Introducing the Black Venom™, a bold upgrade to the already incredible Venom™ line. This uncompromising new addition features the latest Leverage™ cover technology from the Jackal Ambush, modified for maximum performance on moderate oil volume.  Pairing this new Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive cover with the Gear™ APG core creates earlier read and unstoppable traction when attacking light-medium oil lane conditions.

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

At the core of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core. 

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.
  • Balanced Bowlers - Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    First Motiv Ball

    Great ball! I was looking for something that was a bit earlier than anything I have in my bag. Got this ball less than two weeks ago. My second set with it I shot 300/800. It's smooth and consistent. The best thing is I haven't had a shot just jump several boards left on me in the third game like my other asymmetrical balls tend to do. It's my first Motiv ball and definitely won't be my last.

    Smooth but deadly

    The Venom Black is a great benchmark ball with a smooth roll but deadly strike through the pins. It takes surface changes very well. Even though it's an angular shape, it's very subtle.
    I paired my Venom Black with a Jackal Ghost, Revolt Uprising Limited Edition, and Top Thrill Hybrid for a well rounded arsenal.

    Great benchmark ball

    Have had this one for close to a year now. Success on medium to medium light conditions. Reads the midlane very well with a controllable down lane reaction. Incredible carry. My go to ball to start a set or when the lanes get funky to get me out of jail so to speak.

    Very good regardless of skill level

    I’m a novice bowler this ball made a huge difference in my game. I went from a 95 to 115 average and changed nothing except my ball. If you don’t have one you better get one.

    The Best Benchmark Ball

    I got this ball after not bowling for ~5 years. Previously, I had thrown (and loved) Motiv products like the Venom Shock, Jackal LE, Paranoia, and more. This ball helped me get back into bowling like I had never left. I would recommend this as a benchmark ball to anyone, you need it in your bag!
