Gear APG Asymmetrical

At the heart of the Lethal Venom is the Gear APG asymmetrical core, and it’s an absolute powerhouse. With a fast-spinning low RG of 2.47, a controllably low differential of .036, and an intermediate differential of .013 — this core strikes the perfect balance of control and versatility. What does that mean for you? It’s like having the precision of the original Gear core from the Venom Shock—but on steroids. The Gear APG lets you adapt and attack the lanes with confidence.

Leverage MXC Solid

The Lethal Venom features the same Leverage MXC Solid Reactive cover originally found on the Subzero Forge.  That means the Lethal Venom is the first Venom to contain the game-changer of Duramax additive technology!  This means that the cover will hold its surface longer, have better traction in the oil, create a smooth down-lane motion, and allow for maximum control. This isn’t just innovation—it’s domination.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

For speed dominant bowlers, the Venom Shock and Black Venom may be too clean to use on fresh oil.  For bowlers in that situation, the Leverage MXC coverstock will give enough traction to use a lower differential core like the Gear APG when more rev dominant players are using them.  Additionally, speed dominant players benefit greatly from Duramax enhanced coverstocks and the Lethal Venom will serve as a great step down from the Subzero Forge and Evoke for lower oil concentrations or straighter angles.

  • Balanced

The Lethal Venom will be a great benchmark option for balanced bowlers to use as the first ball out of their bag.  For balanced bowlers, a smooth, controllable, lower flaring ball is useful for reading an oil pattern and giving a great deal of control early in competition.

  • Rev Dominant

Many rev dominant bowlers need smooth and controllable motion, but struggle to use high differential bowling balls.  The significant flare of a high diff ball can often create issues with carry for rev dominant players.  WIth the .036 differential of the Lethal Venom, rev dominant players can use something that will respond more slowly to friction on the lane without being hindered by excessive flare.

    Lethal Venom Ball Review

The Lethal Venom is the newest ball added to the fan favorite Venom line. It has the Leverage MXC Solid Reactive cover that gives you strength and stability with a smooth motion. It’s designed for medium oil patterns and made for when you need something stable and controllable. The Lethal Venom has the Gear APG asymmetrical core. The Lethal Venom creates a very strong round motion and is great for medium oil patterns especially when the pattern calls for a predictable ball. This ball should fit the middle of the bag when the cleaner balls aren’t giving enough traction in the oil. This ball is a great add to the arsenal and Motiv really created an amazing piece here.

    Surprising performance

I was not really sure what to expect from this ball being I already have a Venom Shock in my arsenal. I was a bit concerned about overlap. In short, this ball acts like it has snow tires on when it goes down the lane. No big surprises, it just carves a nice arc, and yet if you can find enough oil to get around the ball a bit it will turn up some backend. Seems like it will be my go to option when I'm having a difficult time managing transition.

    Great control piece for transition

The Black Venom has been one of my favorite late block/high friction tools in the Motiv arsenal. It is nice to see the APG Gear core back with a power upgrade from the Subzero Forge in the Leverage MXC cover.

It really fills an interesting spot in the bag.
When the lanes get messy, and the pattern is transitioning, the new Lethal Venom creates the perfect balance of power and control, allowing you to manage that tricky transition really well.

This Ball Lives Up To It's Name

679 Off the Press and Nothing under 719 in League after that since drilling this about a month ago with a High Series of 785 and a 300 game to go with it.

I have 18 Games on this Ball and am carrying a 243.95 Average for those games. Box Surface with a Tall Pin Layout has made this a literal assassin on the lanes for me.

For comp purposes when figuring where to place it in the bag, Look at it as a pinch earlier / smoother than the black venom. Hands Down, Yes I would recommend this a friend!!
