Paired with the Gear core, and you will find a benchmark bowling ball that needs to be in every single arsenal.
Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.
For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal. Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil. Decided to give Motiv a try this year and started with the Venom Shock after hearing a lot of people call it the goat. Looking for a true benchmark ball, the Shock gave me the best controlled motion I've ever seen and has drawn comments of how good it looks even from my competitors. Rev dominate bowler, this ball gets downlane and has plenty of backend while still controlling the pocket. Rolled my career best 3 game set (790) in January 2026 with this ball.

The Motiv Venom Shock is not the strongest of strongest bowling balls, but it can definitely help you take control of the lane. When it’s a bit hard to read what oil is out there the Venom Shock clears the mid- lane very smooth with not so much angle so it really helps when deciding to ball switch. I’ve been bowling for a year and shot my 1st 300 game Dec. 21st, 2025 with the Venom Shock. This is an incredible bowling ball a guaranteed in the league bag ball.

I took a long hiatus from bowling, used to be a 220 average bowler and on forth. Took me to September 2025 to finally throw the big 300 with this ball. This ball is legendary for a reason and it is the ultimate benchmark ball. It is so versatile, meaning you can throw it on anything. It reads perfectly for whatever you are looking for in ball motion. It tells you if you need to ball up or down. This ball is must in your bag if you are serious about bowling, especially if you are a Motiv person as well :) You cant go wrong with the Shock!
Picked up as a used ball in the Pro Shop and this has been my go to ball as the lanes break down. I get a more predictable finish. I am an average league bowler who enjoys the sport, the bowling community and looking to improving my skill

I've owned this Venom Shock for several years, and would recommend one to anyone, and I have.
I feel it's versatile and predictable, and the surface is easily adjusted to match lane conditions. I can't imagine anyone not being able to fit one into their bag.
