We engineered the new Frixion M7 Pearl MCP cover to read earlier and slower than the previous M6 found on the Tank Rampage Pearl, which means less jump and more predictability. This is the most urethane-like MCP ball yet. And paired with Duramax Additive technology, the Shadow Tank will hold its surface longer than anything prior. When the lanes get tricky, this ball stays in play.
Most speed dominant bowlers are able to use stronger balls earlier than their competitors, but in cases where there is just too much wet/dry on the lane or the oil pattern is quite short, the Shadow Tank will come in handy. Additionally, the Duramax additive means that if a speed dominant bowler needs to add surface to their Shadow Tank, it will stay duller longer than other balls in their bag. This can come in handy for speed dominant bowlers using MCP coverstocks on challenging patterns.
For balanced bowlers, the Tank series is a tool for exceedingly difficult patterns and fresh oil. Short to moderate length patterns where control is of the utmost importance are ideal for balanced bowlers looking to use the Shadow Tank. When shallow angles and control are what the pattern demands, the Shadow Tank is a critical tool in the balanced bowler’s toolbox.
Most likely, rev dominant players are the ones who will benefit the most from the Shadow Tank. The high rev rate to speed ratio makes a low diff ball that doesn’t absorb much oil a great option where balanced and speed dominant bowlers may not see enough ball motion. When there is just too much down lane motion, rev dominant players will usually be able to go to the Shadow Tank for the command of the pattern that they need.
I had been bowling with the Shadow Tank since it's release. I had developed an opinion of what I would like it to do, and had a second ball drilled differently. I have had my highest series two weeks in a row at league night. Last night my opening game was 38 pins over average. I also stayed with that ball all night, which is something that I have not done during league. I'm sure that this ball is not for everyone, but It is game saving for me. Definitely worth having one in your arsenal.

I've learned a lot about this ball in a very short time.
First of all, it is very consistent. I can bowl with it all night with only minor adjustments as the lanes change.
Secondly, for me 2000 grit is the magic number. Out of the box it hooked too much, but after about 7 games it settled down and I am in the pocket almost every shot.
I have found that if I sand the ball to 2000 before every league session I pick up an extra 20 pins a game.
Lastly, this ball has renewed my excitement about bowling so I joined a 2nd league and look forward to throwing it as often as I can. I'm winning brackets and poker games often so this ball has already paid for itself :D I gave away my reactive ball, sold my urethane and my 3 ball bag, and now I'm dedicated to bowling with only the Shadow Tank for 10 pins.

I’ve always trusted MOTIV because they consistently produce equipment that outperforms the competition, and the TANK is a perfect example of that reliability. I had mine drilled 60×4.5×30, and this layout gave me a clean look with a sharper angle as it read the 18.5 board. It took a few games across different houses to really understand how this ball wanted to roll, but once it clicked, it became a true asset in my arsenal.
In league play, when multiple bowlers pulled out urethane and the pattern started to get tricky, the TANK became my solution. I was able to carve out my own line and use the “drier” area created by the urethane to get the ball to bounce and shape exactly how I needed. That night I shot a solid 700 series—and it wasn’t the only 700 I’ve posted with this ball.
The TANK is dependable, versatile, and absolutely earns its place in my bag.

This ball has been very versatile for me. If I throw my ball inside, it still holds a really good line to the pocket. However, if I miss or throw outside, it still hooks back to the pocket really well. Along with my Lethal Venom and Evoke Hysteria, it provides a great 3rd game ball. I'm not much of a urethane ball person, but this one has me hooked.
I got this ball in search of a urethane replacement. The tank did not let me down. My PSO drilled it with a shorter pin and this allows me to stay right and walk it into the pocket.
