But with this ball, I get a consistent shape on mid-oiled patterns without having to get too far over. It reads really early, but doesn't snap out of its shape. The smoothest shape I've ever encountered.
I'm sure it has everything to do with the new mcp coverstock it has. I'm familiar with the core from the venom shock, fatal venom and tank carbide. All three have a bit of a snappier hook when entering the friction. But this maintains an incredibly predictable shape from early in the shot. And also plays very well on a very light patterns, without having to play too much of the lane.

All the developments in Microcell Polymer has culminated in this; The triumphant return of the Tank Rampage! Now in a pearl, the Tank Rampage Pearl is hands down the best MCP ball from Motiv yet. The Gear V2 core really pairs perfectly with new cover to create motion that is closest to true urethane without any of the traditional downsides, or worries about the new urethane rules. I used to love the original Tank Rampage, and was thrilled to finally have a version back in the arsenal. I cannot stop striking with the Rampage Pearl. If you need the next level of control and performance, look no further, this is the best urethane-like bowling ball on the market today.

Rampage Tank is more versatile and controllable than competitors' Urethanes.
Surprisingly able to use this ball on house and various sport patterns long or short depending on your speed and rev-rate.
Pulled out the Rampage on house a shot w patchy carry-down, due to the non carry factor and was able to straighten out the line w/ a slight bend to go around the carry-down w/ predictability without giving up the hitting power

Motiv continues to add another great ball to the Tank line. Right away I thought this ball looked like it had too much surface but I was proven wrong. The box surface of 1000 Grit LSS fits well (could even need 500 Grit) with the smoother reaction of this ball. Overall, this Tank is a good bit less than the previously released Tank Yellowjacket. This ball is a must if you want to be a competitive bowler and need to control lighter volume and/or shorter oil patterns.

I have thrown all of the Microcell polymer ball released by Motiv so far. The Tank Rampage is by far the closest to urethane that I have seen. By far the best Microcell to resist lane shine don’t get me wrong it still does but not nearly as quick as others. Takes surface adjustment very well, make it as rough as you want to get that super early roll and smooth backend. Motiv keeps improving their Microcell Technology with each release.
