I purchased the Pride just before Christmas and let me tell you this is a must have for all bowlers. I absolutely love this ball. I now own 4 Motiv bowling balls and each and every one is a winner. They have something for every lane condition. The company has fantastic customer service. Answered all my questions gave me great advice. And made me feel like I’m part of a family
Attention all Motiv throwers.!! Many already know I'm sure. This ball is a must have!! It is the most versatile ball in the lineup. This is the go to ball in many scenarios. I am more than happy with the outcome of this ball and what it can do! If you don't have one yet don't wait.
This ball is incredible!! I have been bowling for almost 2 years now and a few different motiv balls as I grow my arsenal. This ball has been incredible to me. I have scored my highest games and series so far since using this piece and my league average has gone up from 165-170 to 198 since i drilled this up!!
I would highly recommend this ball to anyone who wants to have a piece that they can rely on with any type of lane condition and is very versatile to change the finish quick and easy
I waited a long time for a ball to fill the spot left by the Rogue Assassin, previously held by the Forza SS. Both were amazing pieces I looked to for fresher conditions as they rolled smooth and didn’t need quite the volume of the top tier equipment. I was initially a little disappointed an asymmetrical was placed in this spot in the chart but after rolling multiple Recoils I wasn’t quick to judge.
I laid out the Pride with a 45x4.375x70 in an attempt to use the asymmetry to get the ball to use more energy early and tumble… Unfortunately the ball is still quite a bit more dynamic to friction than the Rogue and not as smooth as I was hoping for with the same 3000CTD surface prep I used for comparison. Granted fresh covers always hook more. The reaction is very strong rolling through the middle of the lane but still has a kick leftover for friction. I needed to play the Pride deeper inside than the Rogue but due to its strength downlane I had zero concern carrying the corners. Taking the surface down to 2000CTD forced me to play even more in the oil making the breakpoint a little smoother but the backend really straighten out too much. The original 4000 box finish will give you a very nice finish downlane!
Final thoughts… whether core and/or cover the ball should’ve really gone one spot to the right in the chart. That being said there’s a lot to like here! It’s strong but far from the arcy chuggy shape of Forge Flare. Not sure if I will punch up another, in hindsight I would like a stronger pin position and the PSA in the thumb (70x3.75”x30) to see if the motion can be more continuous. A solid step up from the Shock in shape and will handle more volume. In my bag it will not unseat the Assassin though.
The new Motiv Pride does everything you’d want with a benchmark ball. It’s very versatile and has amazing continuation. The Pride has brand new core(Dominion core) and cover stock. This Pride was designed to be the perfect benchmark piece and it’s exactly that! Unique from anything currently in the Motiv line. The Pride fits right into the medium oil/smooth position of the ball guide. I can see this ball being used on a lot of various oil patterns.
