The Blue Coral Venom™ is the first ever hybrid asymmetric found in the 10-year history of the Venom™ line. The latest stage of evolution in the wildly successful Venom™ line, the Blue Coral Venom™ focuses on versatility and benchmark reaction for moderately high friction surfaces. An upgrade to the Venom™ Recoil, the Blue Coral Venom™ provides more traction in the oil with a stronger and more continuous down lane motion.

With the Coercion™ MFH Reactive cover, the Motiv Blue Coral Venom™ provides plenty of length through the front of the lane, while picking up in the middle of the lane with a smooth and controllable transition. This hybrid cover is remarkable thanks to its ability to provide traction in the oil, without sacrificing control down lane. This performance provides the strength and incredible versatility that the Venom™ line is known for. 

Versatility is also what makes the Gear™ APG core special.  Its low differential and asymmetry allow the Blue Coral Venom™ bowling ball to attack the pins from shallower angles using a more aggressive cover stock.  Originally deployed because weight holes were being eliminated, the slight asymmetry of this core gives ball drillers more options than a typical symmetric design.  

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers: For speed dominant bowlers, this will be a medium dry lane ball for use at shallow angles.  While many balls for medium-dry to dry lanes tend to skip past the break point for speed dominant bowlers, the high performance coverstock on the Blue Coral Venom™ will have no trouble gripping the lane.  Additionally, the Gear™ APG core allows players who like to play straighter to do so with more ease.  This should be a great ball for speed dominant players to play more direct on fairly dry lanes.
     
  • Balanced Bowlers:  Bowlers with speed and rev rate that match will find many uses for the Blue Coral Venom™, due to the versatility it offers.  This Venom™ has more traction in the oil than any before it.  The Blue Coral Venom™ has more traction in oil than the Venom™ Shock, and offers much more control than the Fatal Venom™.  Balanced bowlers will be able to use the Blue Coral Venom™ from a variety of angles on medium to medium-dry lanes when other Venoms™ can’t dig in the oil, but other high performance balls are just too strong.
     
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers:  For rev dominant bowlers the Blue Coral Venom™ is a perfect benchmark ball.  Due to lower speed or higher rev rates, players of this classification often need to “ball down” from what balanced or speed dominant bowlers would use.  While the Blue Coral Venom™ is classified as a medium-dry oil ball, for those who are rev dominant it is a benchmark that offers moderately clean and controllable ball motion.

    My FAVORITE Ball of All-Time

    I don't think I can say enough about the Blue Coral Venom. From the very 1st time I saw a video of EJ Tackett throwing it, I knew I had to have it. It's GORGEOUS going down the lane and for me, it's as close to a benchmark ball as I've been able to find. If the lanes get squirley, or I get lost, I go to this ball and more times than not get back on track. The Venom line has always been my favorite and the Blue Coral just elevated that even more.

    Love this ball!

    This was one of the first Motiv balls I purchased when I returned to bowling after a long hiatus and it has just been so reliable ever since I first threw it.

    At my usual league house, I throw this for game three when the oil has seen a lot of traffic and it is so good! I know I can keep the line I want to play and it'll see the pocket each time.

    For my summer league, I can throw this on the fresh since those lanes are much drier and can stay in this ball for all three games.

    Love the versatility of this piece!

    A real game changer

    After doing some research, my 9-year-old son and I determined that the Blue Coral Venom would be a really good piece for him to throw in his Saturday morning league. As a youngster, he is definitely more rev dominant, and the Blue Coral gave him a bit more length that he needed to hit the pocket. His first two games, he bowled his average; the third game with it he went 50 pins over average. The smile he gave me saying, "Dad, I love this ball" will always be a fond memory of mine. Thank you Motiv for crafting such a beast of a ball!

    I should mention that I threw one full game with it, just to see how it felt. We are both two handed bowlers, so I could only put my ring and pinky finger in the tiny holes.
    I hit the Front 7 and bowled my highest game ever. Once it starts to strike, it does not want to stop.

    Coral Venom

    This will definitely be the next ball I purchase! My friend let me borrow his for a game and I bowled my second best game ever (190). I got into this sport just a couple months ago and only have Motiv balls in my arsenal. Motiv makes amazing products. This ball stays consistent when in the pocket. Can’t wait to be able to add this as my 4th Motiv ball! Thank you for amazing products Motiv!!!!
