The Forge™ Ember is the newest performance hybrid from Motiv Bowling.  Built to generate more friction than previous hybrids, the Forge™ Ember combines technology from two very different coverstock systems to deliver a new brand of motion.  Bowlers will find increased strength in the oil without sacrificing down lane motion.  More down lane motion means that the Forge™ Ember will be useful for a longer window during competition.

Inside the Forge™ Ember is the Detonator™ core. The Detonator™ is a stable and strong combination of low RG with high differential.  The fast spinning low RG provides control while the high differential gives traction and strength.  The fast revving Detonator™ is a proven winner on higher volumes of oil.

Wrapped around the Detonator™ core is the Infusion™ MXC Hybrid Reactive cover.  As already mentioned, this cover combines two very different shells to provide a unique shape.  Traditionally, the most angular motions from MOTIV® were generated using the Infusion™ coverstock system.  Conversely, the coverstocks with the MXC distinction were those with the most mid-lane traction and control.  When combined, bowlers should see significant traction in the oil with more down lane motion than is normally expected from such a strong cover.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed dominant Bowlers: The Forge Ember will serve as an outstanding benchmark ball for bowlers who are speed dominant.  Bowlers with higher speed and/or lower rev rates need more traction on the lane, but for a benchmark still need some down lane motion.  The Forge Ember will provide the reliability and versatility needed from a benchmark or lane reader ball in the bag of a speed dominant player.
  • Balanced Bowlers:  Balanced bowlers will use the Forge Ember on higher volume or longer oil patterns and lower friction surfaces when their go-to ball is just a bit too weak to make it back to the pocket.  When the massive asymmetrical balls are too strong or too forward down lane, but the benchmark pieces just can not hook enough, the Forge Ember fits perfectly into the void.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers: For many Rev Dominant bowlers the Forge Ember will be the strongest symmetrical ball they ever need.  Many rev dominant players prefer symmetrical pieces, but there are few with covers strong enough to use on high volumes of oil and fresh patterns.  The most rev dominant bowlers will use the Forge Ember as the first ball in their progression on high concentrations of oil.

    Ember to remember

    Core: Detonator
    Type: Symmetrical
    Coverstock: Infusion MXC Hybrid Reactive
    Box Finish: 2000 Grit LLS
    Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xURXsWiW3cY
    Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 70

    Strengths
Forge Ember provides traction and continuation downlane.

Forge Ember is not as angular as Iron Forge, however Infusion MXC Hybrid Reactive is powerful at the breakpoint.

Forge Ember has more length than Forge Fire and Forge Flare, in terms of backend it fits under Jackal Legacy and Trident Odyssey.

    Weaknesses
Forge Ember is not something I would use on light oil and dry conditions. I would recommend Top Thrill for lighter conditions.

    Forge!!!

Let’s talk about this special ball here. The Forge Ember is really one of one, crazy! When bowling in tournaments we often find ourselves having to change balls because of Lane conditions. When I’m able to roll with the Ember I find myself able to stay in this ball longer then normal. This new Technology is something unheard of. #getmotivated

    Detonator core is an Explosion!

I picked up this ball and the Mythic about a month ago. I love my Jackals, so I made the "mistake" of throwing my Mythic first during league.

The next week I pulled the Ember out. Good night! I threw a 777! This thing starts to read the lane, in the oil, but doesn't jump or over react like my Revolt Uprising can. Yet it doesn't slide out and read late like my Mythic. Really, it's a PERFECT ball for me to start out my league nights, and depending on our opponents for the evening, it can be my ball all night long!

It has a very nice smooth predictable motion that you want. For me it's become my Benchmark ball.
I bowled a tourney yesterday that was a "mystery pattern" shot. Ran about 41/42 feet. It was a heavier pattern and this ball picked it up and ran with it, my first 3 games were 695.

I will say when the lanes start to break down, you CAN move in, but I've actually found that moving to the Coral or jumping in and wheeling the Mythic is a better option.

If you are thinking about getting this ball, stop. Just walk into your local Pro Shop and get one coming. It's THAT good!

    Very smooth and predictable

Bought thinking I needed something a little weaker than the Mythic. I bought this and was blown away by how smooth it rolls. One of the most predicate leaders balls I now own.

    Better Than Advertised

    Ball is a Striking Machine

I went with my preferred symmetric solid layout (Pin Under Ring, CG just Right of the Thumb), left it at box surface and shot 280-279 off the press and proceeded to finish in 5th place in a Doubles Tournament with my friend that day.

The Forge Ember with my layout on it proceeded to give me access to a part of the lane I usually see to much to soon on to stay in. I was in part expecting it to be more of the same in that regard but it surprised me by not being to early but rather just clean enough through the heads. I would recommend this to a friend and fellow competitor if they need something that will fight and shape thru the oil but not necessarily hook at their toes.
