Forge Flare

The Forge™ Flare brings the heat with solid reactive technology unlike anything ever seen before in the MOTIV® line!  Designed for use on medium-heavy oil conditions, it provides unparalleled traction in the front of the lane, without sacrificing down lane reaction.

The ability of the Forge™ Flare to shape so easily in higher oil volumes is possible because of new Coercion™ MXC (MaXimum Continuation) Solid Reactive cover stock.  It is the strongest solid shell ever created by MOTIV®.  Most impressive is the continuation from such a strong cover.

The Forge™ Flare partners this new cover technology with the symmetrical Detonator™ core, which is utilized to provide a low RG and high differential.  The result is a fast revving, strong, and continuous bowling ball with massive track flare potential.

When To Use:

  • Speed Dominant: Often, speed dominant bowlers are forced to use an asymmetric bowling ball to limit the skid phase as much as possible.  Sometimes, this means sacrificing continuation.  By combining this unbelievably strong cover with a symmetrical core, the bowler will be able to rely on the shell to slow the ball down without sacrificing continuation at all.
  • Balanced: This is the ball that a tweener dreams of.  A ball so strong that they are able to move left on high volume patterns and see shape instead of having their shim taken away by the higher rev players.  The Forge Flare opens a new portion of the lane for fresh oil and early transition in heavy oil for balanced bowlers.
  • Rev Dominant: Rev dominant players will find that they can shape a Forge Flare with ease in a way that no other solid cover ball has ever allowed them on heavy oil.

    This ball hooks in oil

I needed a Heavy Oil ball and the Forge Flare is it. This ball hooks even for lower rev rate bowlers and can be controlled through the middle for high rev rate bowlers.

I bought this for the color to track the break point and this scheme really helps to see that transition and when the ball loses energy to know when to switch your shot.

This ball it not for a classic stroker shot but by just moving inside this ball works great. the action is smooth and wants to turn so just let it. a great piece and recommend bringing this ball back.

    Traction, control, predictably and power

This ball should still be in production. This ball has become the first ball out of my bag. I bowl at two houses where their house shot is on the heavier side. This ball gives me the traction I need and a controlled predictable motion down lane I can trust. It hits like a freight train. If I need something more dynamic off the spot and still need the mid-lane read, I can ball up to a Legacy or ball over to the Odyssey or even the Pride. It's strength in the part of the lane that I need.

    Love this ball

So my wife was gifted this ball and loves it!! She throw around 12 to 13mph with med rev rate. She has a higher pap so my shop recommended a max flare drilling.. I wasn't sure about this because it put the pin about 6 inches above ring finger. But boy does it work... makes it so much smoother through the lane and moves a ton on the back end. Shows how versatile this ball can really be. I highly recommend getting this ball. Plus it looks awesome rolling down the lane!

Great ball for low speed and low revs

My wife just got the Forge Flare and all I can say I wow. The lanes we bowl league on are synthetic with a medium-heavy pattern. My wife bowls about 11 mph with 120 rev rate. She is able to use the Forge Flare for all 3 games and even uses it for her spares. She has a consistent look from anywhere she lines up. She knows what it will do. Super strong and continuous.

    Early Review: OMG! OMG! OMG!

Layout: 3 3/8 x 70 (first number doesn't affect Sym balls so left if off)

Quick review before I try this on normal and Sport shot leagues this week:

Went to practice last night (Sunday) on burnt up lanes from the weekend. Pride, Trident Horizon, Fatal Venom, new Forge Flare

Pride (@3000) was usable. Trident had zero bite (doesn't like dry I've noticed). Fatal was able to swing into the pocket nicely from about 30 targeting 15 or a little right.

FF, OMG! up the right, take as much hand out as I could, it would read within 20' and be rolling by 30'. Moved left as a joke to 37/38, knowing there was NO OIL on the lane, and OMG! the FF, with speed around 15.4 at 50' speed trap, didn't over read the fronts or mids, if I got it outside 8, it would turn the corner amazingly and storm back to the pocket.

Yes, I left a lot of 10's, but the house was in lights out bowling, so my target was always a guess. Simply, i never expected to be able to use the FF on such burnt lanes, and it was simply amazing! I cannot wait to see this on the league house shot and Scorpion (sport shot pattern for next 6 wks).

This ball looks amazing on non-ideal conditions, so no reason to presume it won't be amazing when it sees some oil. Very excited for this week!
