The newest predator in the vicious Jackal line, the Jackal Ambush will catch opponents off guard with its strength and control of its environment. This ultra-strong beast pushes the boundaries of ball motion and hook in oil, providing a smooth and controlled ball motion, even in the heaviest concentrations. The Jackal Ambush allows you to go on the hunt, knowing that you have the strength behind you to dominate.

The Jackal Ambush introduces the release of a brand new coverstock system; Leverage Solid Reactive. Leverage is formulated to be smoother down lane and stronger in the oil than the Coercion coverstock systems previously used for this ball motion. This is the most aggressive coverstock system ever developed in the MOTIV ball line.

Paired with this new system is the proven Predator V2 core. Used in the legendary Jackal Ghost and the Alpha Jackal used by Wesley Low to shoot 900, the Predator V2 is ideal in heavy oil conditions when a high performance, asymmetrical core is necessary. The low RG and high differential give a fast spinning and dynamic core design, capable of huge amounts flare.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - For speed dominant bowlers, traction and guaranteed hook are so important. The Jackal Ambush is a must for bowlers who are speed dominant. With oil volumes increasing, bowlers with a lot of speed or lower rev rates benefit from increased differential, asymmetry, and stronger cores. The Jackal Ambush checks all of the boxes for bowlers needing help creating shape on the lanes.
  • Balanced Bowlers - Balanced bowlers will use the Jackal Ambush when in need of the most control and traction possible. For balanced bowlers competing on very high volumes or looking to start further in on a house pattern, the Jackal Ambush will do the trick, offering a smooth and predictable motion.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - For rev dominant bowlers, the Jackal Ambush is a control ball for the absolute lowest friction environments. For these bowlers needing control, a shinier finish may be necessary, but the control offered by the Leverage Solid Reactive coverstock paired with the Predator V2 could be advantageous if angular pieces feel like they go everywhere on fresh oil.

    Have you ever wanted a Gem in your arsenal but wanted to stay with Motiv???

    Complete transparency upfront... Motiv sent me an Ambush for writing a review of another ball. I couldn't use that ball though because it was too light. I instead had it drilled for my most Improved bowler on the JV team I coached (the staff at Motiv were exceptional and offered to swap the ball out for a heavier but I decided to use it as an award and pay the good fortune forward). I didn't see my student athlete roll it the first time... BUT I HEARD IT. Ollie was rolling a Pride Empire and it performed well. When I heard the Ambush hit the pins it was a completely different and stronger sound than the Empire. The Ambush just looked and sounded much stronger and I was intrigued. So, I went ahead and ordered one for myself and had it drilled. This ball digs in and reads ALL the way through the lane (fronts, mids and backs) and finishes with power. I rolled it in league and unfortunately suffered NBS (New Ball Syndrome). The house shot was burnt up and there just wasn't enough oil to keep this ball right of the head pin. This ball loves oil and I can't wait until I get on some fresh with this and my Mythic Jackal. I switched to my Venom Shock/Fatal Venom combo in game two and bowled the front 5 without breaking a sweat and finished with a 230 (man did I suffer from NBS in game one). This ball is STRONG. If you are a dedicated Motiv customer and looking for something as strong as the Gem, this is it (maybe a touch stronger). Great motion down the lane and a power house through the pins. Just know that there is a time and place for a ball and this one needs oil on the lanes. If you are on a short pattern or the lanes are burnt up a bit, this likely won't come out of the bag. Great ball Motiv!

    One of the best balls on the market would be a great addition to any bowler’s arsenal I got my first 300 game with it after only having it for maybe a month

    Ball is great on heavy oil otb. Or flat long patterns. Just eats right through the oil. No luck with it on A typical house shot. Too much ball

    I have a pin up Ambush I've been using for a few weeks. It picks up great in heavy oil and still has plenty of juice left to make the turn.
