View Privacy PolicyThe Jackal Ambush feasts on heavier oil patterns and laughs in the face of high volume house shots!
Out of box, the Jackal Ambush was earlier & stronger overall than my Jackal Ghost, with a smoother consistency reaction shape. I adjusted the cover with a light coat of polish and found the Ambush to be much more versatile for the majority of patterns I bowl on, but have easily found all the hook I need by scuffing the surface.
My Jackal Ambush & Jackal Ghost are both drilled with a pin under middle finger layout of 45x5x75.
For speed dominant or low rev players, the Jackal Ambush can be your ball of choice for fresh house patterns. For heavier/longer sport patterns, the Jackal Ambush gives you the early traction & consistency you need before transitioning to balls like the Ghost or Venom product line.

Right-handed/Two-handed.
16-17mph, 480-500 rev rate.
PAP is 4 5/8" over and 2" up.
I drilled my Jackal Ambush 55 x 4.125 x 40.
This is by far the strongest Jackal. What I love about it is just how early, smooth and continuous it is. It is a shape I haven't personally seen in the Jackals before it.
This ball definitely loves the oil and is an absolute beast as soon as you feed it some.
When you need to move left, play in the oil, or blend the wet/dry, this is the ball you want in the bag.

I bowled my first 600 series in league last Monday with this ball. This is a most have in your bag. I recommend this to my friends hands down.

So my heading is no lie. 1000grit out of box. That's some teeth! This ball hooked in my backswing.
I'm a guy that tries to keep things at OOB finish just so I know exactly what that ball will do.
I couldn't do that here. I couldn't find a condition with enough oil. It might be out there, so I decided to take the surface up to 4000. That really helped in some conditions, but the ball was a little late leaving me 10 pins. So, at that point I took it to 3000.
That was MUCH better for me.
I actually took the Legacy out of my bag, which I threw an 813 with. I really didn't think I'd ever do that.
I will say, The Ambush, then ball down to the Ember is a solid step, I then drop to the Mythic. It's a great combo!
Is this a house shot killer. Maybe. It will depend on how you throw. This ball is THE strongest on the ball chart for a reason. It NEEDS oil. I mean NEEDS it. Even at 4000 it starts to pick up in the oil. This cover is NO joke.

I had my local pro shop polish up this ball a bit to cut down on the early hook. First time out shot 680, the ball went thru the oil smooth and had fantastic backend motion, I give this ball a huge thumbs up, it will be a great addition as I already have Motiv Fatal Venom for light oil and Ripcord Velocity for medium oil lanes. I would highly recommend this ball, good luck and good bowling!!!!
