Out of the box at 4000 the ball is very clean (drilled 65-5 3/8”-35) but when scuffed with a used 2000 pad it was closer to a benchmark type of reaction. I drilled a second 45-4 ¾”-75 to try and slow down the reaction time to get that “benchmark” motion I am desperately looking for, it helped but still not what I feel is a “benchmark” ball. I have played with different grits on the Cover but unable to get that super smooth controllable look without it going forward and being super responsive to friction. I truly enjoy the shape of the Pride and it has a place in my tournament bag for sure. It’s a strong ball and being asymmetrical with moderate response to friction it’s a little touchy on patterns with very little tapper front to back. I feel the Pride is much stronger than advertised, mine is stronger than the Ghost, and Horizon when compared to other Asymmetrical pieces. With all that being said, after getting over pre conceived notions, I can’t put the ball down and it is my favorite ball in Motiv’s current lineup.

The all new Pride bowling ball is going to be one of the best Benchmark asymmetrical. I have had the luxury of throwing this ball and it has not disappointed.
The ball loves the friction, get it out early and it will have enough energy to get back and continue through the pins hard. One of the most continuation/controllable ball I have ever thrown. Tug it a little and the ball is strong enough to roll through the pins the right way.

Being a left handed full roller on staff with Motiv, I have had an affinity for the real low end of the RG spectrum and the low/mid end of the diff spectrum. My bag has had a Venom Recoil, Covert Tank, Tank Blitz, Desert Tank, and a Purple Tank since before Nationals. The 6th spot has just been a rotation of the Forge Flare, a Jackal Ghost, or an Alpha Jackal... until now.
The day my Pride came in, I was expecting to drill it and it just be too shiny with too much differential for my liking. I've previously had to get away from balls such as the Ripcord Flight and Jackal Flash for just being too long and snappy for me, to cover both ends of the ball chart. I put on my standard layout, laced up, and hoped for the best as this ball was getting really great hype from fellow staffers. The first shot off my hand immediately made me take my Forge Flare out, I'm not joking, it was that easy of a choice.
The Pride was everything I needed in my bag. I had been seeking for an asym that would be a step up from my beloved Venom Recoil, as it has gotten hundreds of games on it and I didn't want to drill up a fresh one yet. I found that and more within the two games of trying it all over the pattern. It even had the ability to roll up the track smooth if I took some hand out.
I personally hit it with a quick 2000 to knock some of the shine off and don't think I've shot a week under average with it yet. I even was fortunate enough to record an 812 and then a 300 a few days later in another house, but we don't need to talk about the 296 in a 3rd house two days after that (lol). Despite my full roller layout, I've had some friends pick it up and throw it for a few shots and they are hooked too.
Venom Recoil lovers will find this ball is the steroid they needed in the bag when the Recoil just isn't quite enough or can't make the corner anymore. Lefties will find this ball opens up the nosebleed seats inside of that big dot in the middle. Full rollers will appreciate the smooth shape. Everyone else will just love it too. If you are looking for that new benchmark because your shock has some mileage, this is it. If you are a big fan of the Jackals but don't like the shape of the Tridents, you should give this a shot to be your ball down.
This ball has been first out of my bag whenever possible for three weeks and I'm averaging at least 250 when I throw this ball, and I swear I'm not anything special when it comes to bowling! You should definitely give it a shot if you are looking for the "next Venom Shock" from Motiv.

The new MOTIV PRIDE is going to set the mark for the benchmark ball. This ball has a new core with the DOMINION core and coverstock with the COERCION UCS SOLID. (UCS- Ultimate Continuation Solid). For me, the middle of the chart balls or benchmark balls have not suited my game well, but let me tell you this ball has changed my mind in that area. I drilled this ball 65 x 5 x 45. The drilling gives me some length through the pattern, but still comes of the end of the pattern with energy and continuation through the pocket. The ball looks amazing going down lane with the colors. This ball has been stronger than what I anticipated it to be, but it will also be a great step down from the Jackal Legacy when the lanes start to transition on sport shots. During league play, you will be able to use this ball start to finish. I have enjoyed throwing this ball on sport conditions and on house shots. This ball is going to be in my bag for a while.

A great benchmark ball to have in your bag. This ball will allow you to open up your angles with continuation through the pins, or keep your angles in front further right. It is very versatile , and allows you to use it on multiple lane surfaces/patterns. I find myself starting with this ball and then I am able to transition from there based on what the lane is telling me.
