Combining two of MOTIV®’s greatest releases, the Primal Rage and Venom Shock, the Primal Shock bowling ball takes the best of both balls to create something truly special. Turmoil MFS cover technology from the Venom Shock and the Impulse V2 core from the Primal Rage combine to provide strong mid-lane traction with plenty of angle down lane. Motiv’s Primal Shock dominates medium to heavy oil conditions, offering a vast array of options to attack the lanes. This is a can’t miss combination that bowlers have been asking for since 2013!

Turmoil MFS technology has been a benchmark for MOTIV, providing moderate mid-lane traction with plenty of down lane motion. Featured in the longest running MOTIV ball of all time, the Venom Shock, this cover perfectly balances control and aggression. This is the pinnacle of benchmark ball motion.

The Primal Shock takes the ultimate benchmark ball motion found in the Venom Shock and amps up performance by pairing it with the strong Impulse V2 core found in the Primal Rage. This core creates incredibly strong down-lane motion and marks a significant upgrade in overall core strength from the Gear core found in the Venom Shock. When paired with the Turmoil MFS cover, the result is a medium-heavy and moderately angular monster that is a must have in every bag.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - Many speed dominant bowlers are unable to use balls with differentials as low as the Venom Shock. A more dynamic core allows these bowlers to use the same cover stock, but with a motion that suits them. The Primal Shock will be a moderately angular complement to a speed dominant bowler’s benchmark ball. This will be an outstanding first transition ball for bowlers with excessive speed or lower rev rates.
  • Balanced Bowlers - The Venom Shock is a balanced bowler’s dream. It’s been the benchmark ball for those bowlers for years now and will continue to be. Over the years, many balanced bowlers have said that they’d like a more angular Venom Shock and one that could create more down lane motion. The Primal Shock is that ball.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The highest rev rate and lowest speed bowlers will use the Primal Shock on fresh oil and high volume patterns when they need to create some angle. Before the rev dominant players can get all the way into the angular pearls, a Primal Shock will allow for easy mid-lane read and moderate angle to start opening up their angles on transitioning lanes.

    About Me I am avid league bowler. I bowl on 2 leagues a week. I switched to Motiv after the Buyout of EBI by Brunswick when they shut down the US plant. So I switched to an American Made product and I have loved them ever since.

    Perfect Compliment to Venom Shock

    I was very curious about this and excited. I happened to win a Primal Shock before I purchased one. This ball I had drill slightly longer and a little more responsive to friction than my Venom Shock. It does exactly that and more. This ball is stronger than I expected but easy to read the move with it. Love this ball as well. Can't wait to see what the next thing coming down the line is. Keep up the great work and thank you for being Made In The USA!!!

    Another home run!

    Ok when you get a ball drilled sometimes they grow on you sometimes you know pretty quickly what you want to do with it. I threw my Primal Shock it just felt right.. No thinking, just throw it. No matter where I tried to play the ball it just found a way to get home and I can't put it down. League, house, sport, it's just good everywhere.

    Oh My Shock

    Need a longer and more angular Venom Shock? Primal Shock is your answer! This ball allows me to move left and get steep with my angles and still have enough core to get back to the pocket without losing energy! Often times I can get forced into weaker balls due to not clearing the front part of the lane, but I don’t have to worry with this ball. One of my favorite things about this piece. This ball (drilled the same as my Venom), is about an arrow stronger and a few feet longer than my Venom Shock.

    Wish I thrown a primal

    I never had the opportunity to throw the primal. I see why everyone loved it. The weight block seems to accelerate when it turns the corner. When it hits it drives through the pins. I drilled to 45x4.5x35. I did change the surface to 2000. That’s what is so good about the cover so versatile. Definitely give a shout out to Nick Pahr again. He has helped me with layout or when I suggest a layout he gives a great feedback and where it will fit in my Arsenal. Take Advantage of the resources Motiv offers. They have always been willing to help and succeed.

    Perfect step up from a Venom Shock!

    I've been a huge fan of the High Impulse core from the Supra Enzo and Original Supra since they came out, and I never had the chance to throw any pieces from the Primal line before they were discontinued. So when this one was announced, I was extremely excited. I was not disappointed in any way. The Primal Shock is the perfect step up from a Venom Shock with some extra pop down lane. The higher differential and higher RG combined with the super versatile Turmoil MFS cover creates possibly the most versatile ball we have released since the Venom Shock or Jackal Ghost. This one will be in the line for a very long time and fits any style of bowler.
