Combining two of MOTIV®’s greatest releases, the Primal Rage and Venom Shock, the Primal Shock bowling ball takes the best of both balls to create something truly special. Turmoil MFS cover technology from the Venom Shock and the Impulse V2 core from the Primal Rage combine to provide strong mid-lane traction with plenty of angle down lane. Motiv’s Primal Shock dominates medium to heavy oil conditions, offering a vast array of options to attack the lanes. This is a can’t miss combination that bowlers have been asking for since 2013!

Turmoil MFS technology has been a benchmark for MOTIV, providing moderate mid-lane traction with plenty of down lane motion. Featured in the longest running MOTIV ball of all time, the Venom Shock, this cover perfectly balances control and aggression. This is the pinnacle of benchmark ball motion.

The Primal Shock takes the ultimate benchmark ball motion found in the Venom Shock and amps up performance by pairing it with the strong Impulse V2 core found in the Primal Rage. This core creates incredibly strong down-lane motion and marks a significant upgrade in overall core strength from the Gear core found in the Venom Shock. When paired with the Turmoil MFS cover, the result is a medium-heavy and moderately angular monster that is a must have in every bag.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - Many speed dominant bowlers are unable to use balls with differentials as low as the Venom Shock. A more dynamic core allows these bowlers to use the same cover stock, but with a motion that suits them. The Primal Shock will be a moderately angular complement to a speed dominant bowler’s benchmark ball. This will be an outstanding first transition ball for bowlers with excessive speed or lower rev rates.
  • Balanced Bowlers - The Venom Shock is a balanced bowler’s dream. It’s been the benchmark ball for those bowlers for years now and will continue to be. Over the years, many balanced bowlers have said that they’d like a more angular Venom Shock and one that could create more down lane motion. The Primal Shock is that ball.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The highest rev rate and lowest speed bowlers will use the Primal Shock on fresh oil and high volume patterns when they need to create some angle. Before the rev dominant players can get all the way into the angular pearls, a Primal Shock will allow for easy mid-lane read and moderate angle to start opening up their angles on transitioning lanes.

    Love this ball!!!

    I loved the punch I got from my Venom Shock when I hit the pocket clean, but rarely found it very strong until almost the 3rd game on league night. This Primal Shock is the answer! Not a huge hooker on the fresh for me, but at least easily adaptable until transition, when it catches fire. Just gets better as the night goes on!

    Who would have thought u could take the overall performance of the shock and give it a steroid shot.. this ball is nuts through the mids with a strong continous ark on the backend

    Where has this ball been all my life!!!???

    The Primal Shock has become my new benchmark Motiv ball. It’s now the first out of the bag and one of the hardest to put away.

    My first league set with the Primal Shock resulted in 236-300-299 for 835!

    The original Primal Rage has always been my favorite. The Venom Shock has also been a ball I’ve always liked, but have not experienced the same degree of success with as others.

    The Primal Shock is the perfect crossover and provides the elements of both balls. The earlier traction & consistency in oil of the Shock with the stronger versatile downlane shape of the Primal Rage.

    I drilled my Primal Shock with a simple pin up layout, 45x45x5 and left at the out of box finish. The ball has lane shined a bit due to a lot of use, but I have been able to maintain & restore performance with a 2000 grit finish.

    This ball is a perfect fit between my Jackal Ghost and Pride Empire/Sky Raptor. I look forward to this being a new classic for Motiv Bowling for years to come!

    Primal Rage Amplified

    I've been trying to retire my 10 year old Primal Rage with other balls in the Motiv line-up for 2 years and "shock"ingly the Primal name comes back! The combination of this coverstock and core is exactly what I have been waiting for. That snap when it hits friction off the oil is satisfying!
