I had never thrown urethane before. I knew that it hooked early and was very controlled on the back end. This ball is a must on short, flat oil patterns. It gives you plenty of early hook with a controlled motion all the way through. With the short/flat heavy oil patterns you need plenty of traction and control and the Purple Tank is exactly that. I'll take the Purple Tank over the other purple urethane ball any day.

Many believe being a Lefty, Urethane makes the lanes so much easier, well Give it a try. I can say, oily synthetic lanes, this ball is MONEY! I have never thrown Urethane before, never really needed it, but the fact that the Purple Tank was given to me to try out, its staying in the Tournament bag!
This ball makes the lanes almost too controllable. Throwing 5 board, in my "Inner Norm Duke" style, this ball has one of the smoothest arches ever. Keeping my ball speed at 16-17mph at about 400 revs. Keeping my hand behind the ball, the reaction it has is perfect!
Definitely Not a League ball, unless you are a Sport shot bowler. But is perfect for those tough tournament patterns!

This is the most versatile ball in your bag.. heavy oil.. dry oil.... doesn't matter!! No spare ball no problem.. NOW you have one of those also!! This ball I had drilled weaker for high friction lanes and it is amazing!! Play the outside line on heavy and stack them up!!! Pick the corners with ease! Start a step ladder with it or use when they breakdown! It doesn't matter! So glad I have it and the blue pearl tank WILL also make my bag also!! Happy bowling!

The only reason I gave it a 3 star is because this is the most aggressive 1000 grit sanded ball I've ever seen. It looks more like 500 and rolls accordingly. I bowl on older well used wood lanes and the outsides are bone dry. These particular lanes are hand oiled by myself as I am the lane man here so I can control the shot but it's not easy.
39 ft oiled 10 board to 10 board. The Purple Tank is a good ball and once the surface is tweaked I'm sure it'll be more playable in our center. Looking forward to more Tanks!

I know they say urethane is not for dry lanes, but this ball has bailed me out so many times when that is the case! I never liked urethane in the past because I found it to be inconsistent, but this one proved me wrong. So smooth and controllable, but has enough kick down lane to carry everything. This one hooks more than any urethane ball I have ever thrown. It’s like magic! Every ball in the Tank line has been amazing for me and this one is definitely no different. This one is going to stay in my bag for a long time and I will probably have to get another.
