Strengths
The Ripcord Launch is a rather angular ball and it has more teeth at the breakpoint than the Ripcord Velocity, and more angular.
I wasn’t successful using Ripcord Launch on heavier oil patterns because of how clean the cover is, it skids too far with its shiny surface as it doesn’t have enough teeth.
Overall Summary
Ripcord Launch is nothing short of skid/flip. Ripcord Launch is meant to for you to open your angles up with caution to the wind, the more friction I’ve encountered the more angularity I’ve benefited from.
I encourage you to take yourself out to Launch.
Your game will thank you for it.

After posting 248 with the Venom Shock in my league this week, I pulled the new Ripcord Launch out of the bag and promptly recorded 268 and 269 for a 785 series. Previously, I tallied 715 with the Launch on the light-medium oil house shot on wood lanes. Definitely a go-to ball.
Drilling is 80 by 4 1/2 by 15.

Looking to find that medium oil pieces that is meant to tackle extreme angles with snappy backend reaction? The Ripcord Launch is just the piece for you. Wrapping the quick reacting Propulsion coverstock technology around the new Torx V2 core (2.51RG, .048Diff), which was specially modified for this ball, has created an excellent skid-flip arsenal piece in the middle of MOTIV’s lineup.
Seeing as I already have the Pride Empire to help me through the first typical league-night transition, I wanted to lay my Ripcord Launch out with a longer, higher pin to create even more push and response as the block goes deeper into the night. Insert first game out of box 268 as it did everything I wanted it to do. The length provided by the cover and pin distance is good enough to get through the first and second transitions with ease. Once the Launch got to the outside friction, the response to it was fast, creating a sharp transition from the hook to roll phase. What I enjoy even more than the response time, which gives quite a bit of room for error, is the ability of this ball to keep the pins low so they mix around more even if the entry angle into the pocket is not ideal.
Nestled nicely between the Forge Ember/Carbide Tank (for oil) and the Venom line (for drier), the Ripcord Launch is a great skid-flip ball for when the lanes dictate fast response for the backend or extreme launch angles.

Same name, NEW technology. The ripcord Launch is by far the most backend out of any of the previous versions of the Ripcord family. Compared to the Iron Forge the Launch is a couple boards stronger due to the amount of boards it covers on the back. Much cleaner and faster responding than the Iron Forge and Ripcord Velocity. Motiv may have found something with this version of the Propulsion cover. The previous version of the Propulsion cover used on the Empire matched with the Dominion core could make the backend appear spotty at times. Overall, the Ripcord Launch is a great addition to the Motiv lineup offering a purpose-built ball for your tournament bag.

The Ripcord Launch has quickly become a staple in my bag, It angular, its responsive off the spot, It has great shelf appeal in the Pro Shop and on the Rack during league. I find myself using it most after the Sky Raptor proves to start being a little too much ball. If you have seen me bowl recently, you know my love for the Sky Raptor though there have been a couple of times later in league where it's too much ball either in the fronts or the back and that's where the Ripcord Launch really shines, It's just a tick below the Sky Raptor in my hand and it's all the adjustment I need to get dialed right back in.
