I have been a Hammer head for most of my bowling years, however I thought Motiv had some balls worth trying. My son and I got to talking about Motiv balls and he ordered an Iron Forge because he is more of a cranker. He ordered me the Trident Odyssey due to my slower ball speed. This ball is smooth, however after the ball gets lane shined it really picks up in the back. I rolled many games over 200 and it still hooks even when hit with 4000 true cut pads. From what I've seen it is smother over all than the Ghost and less choppy than the Legacy for me.

The Trident Odyssey was a game changer for me. The ball is strong on the backend but also controllable. It is great on the fresh and I only have to move a couple of boards left once the transition hits to stay in the pocket. The Trident Odyssey strikes a lot even if I miss my mark a little it totally kills the pocket. I knock the lane shine off it with a ctd 3000 pad after about nine games. If you're looking to step down from the Jackal Ghost, this is the ball. The Odyssey is also great if you have oil and are looking for a nice smooth motion. It will hook a ton, but is very predictable and won't give you the over/under situation that a lot of angular balls will give you.

Must say that this ball grips so good early in the lane and with my pin down version I got this smooth long motion so I Can use it cross the heavier to medium oil patterns! The core makes it hit harder then the venom or pride balls But little less then the jackal class! But still it goes through the pins with ease!
If u looking for an amazing solid 2000 grid finish ball then look No further! This Will grip for u like nothing ells! Even for a beginner the Maybe not got mutch rev in the hands it Will hook for u!
I did mine pin down for that smoother bigger motion But I Can guarantee it Will go very Well with a pin up version to get that hockey stick motion! It all depends off your stile! And if u don't have a Jackal in your arsenal, then this is your nr 1 ball out off the bag!

I just got this ball drilled. Pin up and right by my ring finger. First series was 698. Ball pushes through the oil and has great back end. I can also swing it and it comes back strong. Growing up I was a hammer guy. About a year ago I tried Motiv and have increase my average by 10 pins.
