Gear APG Asymmetrical

At the heart of the Black Venom you’ll find the Gear™ APG.  Originally developed to overcome the loss of weight holes in sanctioned play, it’s a uniquely low RG / low differential asymmetric core that delivers performance beyond its price point.  With versatile drilling options, you can create many shapes on the lane with just this one Gear APG core.

Leverage MFS Solid

The cover stock on the Venom™ Shock has been the gold standard for benchmark performance since its release nine years ago.  As oil volumes have increased over time, the Venom™ Shock appears more angular, so it’s time to take things to the next level.  Upgrading to Leverage MFS technology means the Black Venom has more bite and a smoother motion on the lane, giving you the upper hand when maximum traction is what you need.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

For bowlers who have always wanted a Venom™, but the previous releases have been too weak or condition specific, the Black Venom™ is ideal. The Black Venom™ is a modern adaptation of the original Venom™ Shock, meaning that it is now stronger and smoother. This should make the Black Venom™ the perfect Venom™ for people too speed dominant for its predecessors.

  • Balanced

Bowlers with balanced speed to rev rate ratios will find incredible versatility from the Black Venom™. As in the Venom™ Shock, the real magic in the Black Venom™ is the ability to use it on a multitude of conditions and from shallow to steep angles.

  • Rev Dominant

The Black Venom™ is the ideal benchmark ball for a rev dominant bowler. All bowlers need a ball to use as a lane reader that is right in the middle of their arsenal and can be used on most conditions. The moderate strength Leverage™ MFS Solid Reactive paired with such a low differential (.036) in the Gear™ APG is perfect for Rev Dominant bowlers.

    Reads early, Keeps going

I love this ball. With my ball speed, I sometimes have issues with the ball reading the lane late.

This ball doesn't have that issue, yet it retains its energy and continues through the pins.
This is another ball that has been great for me, and hasn't left me many 9 pins even though it drives over the 8 pin most of the time.

It is a great transition ball for me, as the lanes break down, I can change to this because it still starts to read in the oil, but doesn't over react, then when it gets to the breakpoint its smooth off the spot because it already started to read.

For me, If I go from an angular ball that is leaving 10 pins, I can change to Black Venom and its smooth finish cleans them back out. This is another ball that I plan to get another one of so I have a duplicate, but with a different drilling to make it even more versatile.

I'm a little late getting this one, but I'm happy I finally got it.

I finally have the Venom Trifecta, the Black Venom, the Venom Shock and the Blue Coral Venom. I can see why so many of the PBA staffers throw this ball. The Black Venom is the perfect balance of traction and down lane motion. The Gear APG core is great in the Blue Coral Venom and in the Black Venom. I've used it on house shots and sport shots. Having al three Venoms makes it easy to ball over and stay with that same core so you know what you're going to get from each piece. It's one of the best line on the ball chart.

    Black Venom, smooth as butter.

I purchased a Black Venom about three weeks ago, this ball is so clean and smooth. My average is up 20 pins. It is definitely my first ball out of my bag in league. I love the look that I get with this ball, I can use it all three games in my league, and if it really gets dry, I go to the Top Thrill Solid. I thought I would never give up my Venom Cobra but that day has come. if you don’t have this ball yet, if you decide to it , you’ll love it like I do.

    Thunderous explosion!!!

The Black Venom is a very smooth ball, and as most Motiv balls do it just crushes the pins. I’ve got to say Motiv hit it out of the park with ball.
