Well over 10 years later and Turmoil™ MFS (Medium Friction Solid) Reactive is still the ultimate benchmark cover. Clean through the fronts, a strong midlane read, and incredible drive through the pins. It creates the perfect motion for a light-medium oil benchmark bowling ball. Paired with the Gear core, and you will find a benchmark bowling ball that needs to be in every single arsenal.
Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.
For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal. Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil. An added bonus for bowlers who love the Venom Shock is how well it responds to surface changes.
Those with revs to spare can use the Venom Shock in many volumes of oil and see outstanding down lane continuation for a ball that is conventionally thought of as a control ball. A shiny Venom Shock is a staple in the bag of many PBA Touring players who want to create some angle without sacrificing control in later transition.
What else can I say about this ball that hasn't been said already? The Venom Shock should be a ball that ANY bowler considers for their bag. It's an amazing benchmark ball that brings an unparalleled amount of versatility to the lane. It rolls great with straighter lines but you can open up the lane with this ball too, I know I don't need to be afraid moving left and swinging the lane with it. It fits perfectly into that medium/light oil range and I often find if I'm starting a series with this ball, I can finish with it as well.
If you're a Motiv person and don't have one of these, you're doing yourself a disservice. Definitely one of Motiv's greatest pieces of equipment, it being in production for so long is proof enough. I feel comfortable recommending this ball to people just getting started past a beginner ball or someone with plenty of bowling experience.

The Venom Shock is good, plain and simple. A reliable benchmark shape, controllable, smooth but never TOO smooth, with the ability to show off some backend bite.

First thing, I am just an average league bowler. I average around 180. Earlier this year I bought a Venom Shock, and this ball is absolutely great. I can use it on just about any lane condition and it will carry well. By far the most versatile bowling ball I have ever owned. Please don’t ever stop making the Venom Shock.

I had 3 Major surgeries in 2021. I finally got back to subbing in league play in October 2022. I have 2 300's this season, both with the Venom Shock. It allows me to clear the heads and gave plenty of hitting power on the backend.
