Gear Symmetrical

At the heart of the Hyper Venom lies the Gear core, a reliable juggernaut.  The Gear core is a proven force in the world of bowling.  Featuring a low RG / low Differential, this fast spinning, low flaring core promises stability in the mid-lane without the risk of burning up due to excessive flare.

Turmoil™ MFS Solid

Well over 10 years later and Turmoil™ MFS (Medium Friction Solid) Reactive is still the ultimate benchmark cover.  Clean through the fronts, a strong midlane read, and incredible drive through the pins.  It creates the perfect motion for a light-medium oil benchmark bowling ball.  Paired with the Gear core, and you will find a benchmark bowling ball that needs to be in every single arsenal.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

Bowlers with higher speeds or moderate speed paired with lower rev rates, the Venom Shock is a great option for control in higher friction environments. Late in league nights or on low volume patterns, the Venom Shock shines for speed dominant bowlers.

  • Balanced

For the balanced bowler the Venom Shock is an absolute must have in the middle of their arsenal.  Balanced bowlers will find that the versatility of the shock allows it to be used in many different volumes and lengths of oil from dry lanes to moderately high volumes of oil.  An added bonus for bowlers who love the Venom Shock is how well it responds to surface changes.

  • Rev Dominant

Those with revs to spare can use the Venom Shock in many volumes of oil and see outstanding down lane continuation for a ball that is conventionally thought of as a control ball.  A shiny Venom Shock is a staple in the bag of many PBA Touring players who want to create some angle without sacrificing control in later transition.

    Outstanding predictable ball

The Venom Shock isn't flashy, but is without a doubt one of the most consistent and predictable balls on the market. This is my second one and it's better than the first. My first game was a 279 on house shot up 10 board at arrows, which is exactly where I want to play. I had to change balls as I moved left, since low diff balls are not my friend going left, but not the balls fault. I will always have Shock in the bag.

My go to ball during transition

I’ve had this ball for several years now and have it drilled pin on pap. I only break out this ball when I know I can play it tight inside and ride the heavy oil down the lane and it pops nicely into the pocket. This ball has saved me so many times it’s always in my bag.

This ball is solid no matter how it’s thrown

While I don’t have a venom shock anymore (stupidly left it in my car overnight on a very cold Minnesota winter night), this ball was my go to when I had it. Averaged about 210 on a house shot with it and about 185 on a sport shot. No matter how it’s drilled, this ball is the GOAT for a reason, and I can see why EJ Tackett loves having it in his arsenal.

    Purchased a second...

I can't sing enough praise about this ball. There is a reason this ball has been in production as long as it has and there is a reason you see this ball in so many arsenals at all levels of bowlers. I stepped down from 16lb balls to 15lb and was missing this ball from my new arsenal. I was waiting until my 10x10 league started so that I could order this with my voucher. I rolled a 210 and 208 out of the gate with this ball. Man I missed having it in my bag. Even coaching, if my JV athletes ask about a ball this is always the first ball I mention. The versatility and performance is absolutely outstanding and I have seen no issues with quality control in the manufacturing process (of any of the Motiv products). My only concern now is if this ball ever goes out of production (I may order another just to keep on the shelf).

    Absolute beast

I’ve had the Shock for a while. I’ve thrown many bowling balls in my time lol. I love how versatile this ball is. Between the cover being very versatile. You can polish it to have a more sharper reaction on the backend. Or keep it at box get a more smooth reaction. Whatever you want you can. The most important to me is this Gear core is probably the best core. When it comes off the spot it drives and hits hard. I tell people this is the perfect benchmark ball.
