Alpha Jackal

The Jackal™ reigns supreme on heavy oil!  For over a half-decade the Jackal line of bowling balls has been the dominant force for heavy oil.  The latest addition to the line, the Alpha Jackal™ pushes the boundaries by providing more hook with the control and devastating continuation that you expect.

Following the success of the Jackal Ghost, we decided it was time to provide bowlers with an updated, stronger, solid reactive cover on the Predator V2 weight block.  Featuring Coercion™ HV3 Solid Reactive cover stock, the Alpha Jackal™ is all about creating traction in places where the previous Jackals could not.  This is the strongest cover ever used in the Jackal™ line.

The Predator V2 asymmetric weight block driving the Alpha Jackal™ boasts a very low RG and loads of differential.  This enables you to maximize both revs and track flare.

Players looking for traction on heavy or long oil patterns need to have the Alpha Jackal™ in their bag.  Expect speed dominant players who already depend on the reliability of the Jackal line to fall in love with the added hook and control of the Alpha edition.

Along with outstanding performance, the solid Alpha Jackal™ is an eye-catching combination of purple and blue that gets attention both on the shelf and on the lanes.

900 SERIES!!!

MOTIV® staffer, Wesley Low Jr., made history by rolling a perfect sanctioned 900 series on Sunday, July 19th using the Alpha Jackal at the 44th Annual Ponderosa Singles Classic at Glenfair Lanes in Glendale, Arizona.  Wesley said, "I don't think I've ever bowled back-to-back 300s, so that was a cool way to start the day, but it didn't sink in until about the seventh frame of the last game that I had a chance at 900. I really made an effort to stay calm and refocus. I still can't believe it happened. I always said I felt like I had a better chance at a hole-in-one in golf than 36 strikes in a row, and I'm not even that good at golf. To shoot 900, things really have to go your way. You need to make a lot of great shots, but you also need some breaks along the way."  Click here to read more!

    Alpha Jackal

The Alpha Jackal has been a great piece in my bag. The Alpha Jackal is great when the Jackal Ghost isn’t strong enough and I need something to shape earlier. Compared to the Trident Abyss, the Abyss is earlier and more forward. With the Abyss, you can’t play as deep as you can with the Alpha Jackal. At least not with as steep of an angle. The Abyss is made more for shallow angles. The Alpha Jackal is really unique. It's a strong early asymmetrical ball that you can still play steeper angles with. My typical line I like playing with this ball is about 20-10. This ball allows me to control the pattern very well on heavier oil patterns. This ball also responds to surface changes exceptionally well. I changed the surface to 4000. Compared to 2000 surface, 4000 gives you more push in the mid lane and a faster reaction down lane. I find myself able to play steeper angles than with the Alpha Jackal at box surface (2000).

    Alpha Jackal!!

The alpha jackal is hands down one of the best asymmetrical balls I’ve ever seen. I’ve drilled two of them so far. The first one being 50x5.5x20, and the second one being 50x4x20. I drilled them both so close to the fact that I absolutely love this layout on this ball. For an asymmetrical it is extremely clean through the fronts for me and has a much faster response than I anticipated. The second one we drilled up to roll just a tad sooner since the first was a little cleaner than anticipated. Comparing this ball to the Jackal rising, I would definitely say this ball is much cleaner ,faster and stronger overall. This is a must have in your arsenal and can be used on any condition.

    A+

I ended up buying two of these, and used two different layouts.
    My pap (4 5/8" R by 1/2" U), measured off a Jackal Rising drilled 40 x 5 x 40.
The first one was drilled 90 x 2" x 25, the short pin layout. This allows me to shape heavier oil patterns, playing straight right out of the gate. The ball flared a maximum of 2" in the oil and flared over 6" in the dry before hitting the pins. That means it can skid just about anywhere, and it gives you a ton of flip motion in the dry. A very strong skid/flip layout. My A-game is playing up the boards and further right than others. I have a Supra that's drilled the same. Comparing the Alpha Jackal to the Supra, the Alpha hooks off the dry about 5 boards more than the Supra.
The next ball was drilled with favorite all around layout. 40 x 5 x 40. The pin was above both fingers not just one or the other. Mb is about 1 1/2 right of thumb hole. That aids the ball picking up into a roll earlier. Now when it flared, it was 6" max in the oil, and 3 inch max in the dry. This is a strong mid-lane ball. When i have to migrate left this ball will read the mid-lane in higher volumes but wont over/under react once in the dry because the ball is already picking up into a roll. Both layouts showed minimal deflection from both angles.
This has to be one of their best core/cover combos. The ball pays for itself and then some, as long as you put up the cash to get it. And then get it done.
A+ rating for versatility. So you have more shape options and plenty of drive from any angle you're looking for. And again these two layouts, both polar opposites, show very little deflection. If any at all. Get an Alpha.

    Alpha Jackal

The Alpha Jackal is the newest addition to the Jackal line. It has the Predator V2 core along with the Coercion HV3 Solid Reactive cover. This ball is extremely smooth going down the lane, but it also shows its strength on the backend of the lane and this continues through the pins. This piece is one of my go to pieces when the lanes are playing wetter or on the longer volume patterns. This ball should be in your bag if you are planning on bowling on longer patterns with higher volumes of oil.
