Alpha Jackal

The Jackal™ reigns supreme on heavy oil!  For over a half-decade the Jackal line of bowling balls has been the dominant force for heavy oil.  The latest addition to the line, the Alpha Jackal™ pushes the boundaries by providing more hook with the control and devastating continuation that you expect.

Following the success of the Jackal Ghost, we decided it was time to provide bowlers with an updated, stronger, solid reactive cover on the Predator V2 weight block.  Featuring Coercion™ HV3 Solid Reactive cover stock, the Alpha Jackal™ is all about creating traction in places where the previous Jackals could not.  This is the strongest cover ever used in the Jackal™ line.

The Predator V2 asymmetric weight block driving the Alpha Jackal™ boasts a very low RG and loads of differential.  This enables you to maximize both revs and track flare.

Players looking for traction on heavy or long oil patterns need to have the Alpha Jackal™ in their bag.  Expect speed dominant players who already depend on the reliability of the Jackal line to fall in love with the added hook and control of the Alpha edition.

Along with outstanding performance, the solid Alpha Jackal™ is an eye-catching combination of purple and blue that gets attention both on the shelf and on the lanes.

900 SERIES!!!

MOTIV® staffer, Wesley Low Jr., made history by rolling a perfect sanctioned 900 series on Sunday, July 19th using the Alpha Jackal at the 44th Annual Ponderosa Singles Classic at Glenfair Lanes in Glendale, Arizona.  Wesley said, "I don't think I've ever bowled back-to-back 300s, so that was a cool way to start the day, but it didn't sink in until about the seventh frame of the last game that I had a chance at 900. I really made an effort to stay calm and refocus. I still can't believe it happened. I always said I felt like I had a better chance at a hole-in-one in golf than 36 strikes in a row, and I'm not even that good at golf. To shoot 900, things really have to go your way. You need to make a lot of great shots, but you also need some breaks along the way."  Click here to read more!

    Alpha Jackal

The Alpha Jackal has been a staple in my bag since it was released. With the same Predator V2 core as the Jackal Ghost, and a stronger Coercion HV3 Solid Reactive cover stock, the Alpha Jackal provides me with an earlier and rounder shape in heavier oil conditions than the original Ghost.

Even though the Alpha Jackal is very strong in the middle part of the lane, it's very continuous and doesn't give up any energy down lane through the pins. This ball is also great for the house shot puddle because it allows you to get into the oil without any worry. If you don't already have the Alpha Jackal in your bag, visit your local pro shop and pick one up today!

    For sure it's the Alpha

    The Alpha Jackal,
So as everyone knows by now this is the most recent release in the famous Jackal series from Motiv. Normally I do my reviews very shortly after receiving the ball and this time around I wanted to get a bunch of games on the ball so I could be a little more in-depth with what I'm seeing from the motion of the ball and my likes/dislikes. So let's start off with my layout. I did my favorite Asym pin-up layout which is a 60*5*30 This normally gives me good length and still has lots of power down lane.
Using that layout I left the Jackal at its box finish which is about a 2k abralon finish. This ball got down the lane much easier than I thought it would being that it has such a strong cover. Shape wise downlane is tougher to explain it's not as long and snappy as the Ghost and not nearly as early as a Jackal Rising. So I've put I dunno about 60 games on this ball so far and man it's been pretty solid for me so far. It lets me open the lanes on higher volume house shots and lets me get in the middle of the lane when I move left on dryer lanes.
As I've owned it the ball has got well kinda dirty. That has been easily resolved. Anytime the ball gets some lane shine on it I just hit it with a fresh 2k pad and its back to normal!
All and all this is what you would expect from a High-performance piece of equipment. It loves the heavier volumes and has plenty to offer downlane for such a big hooking ball!

    Gift from the Bowling Gods

I’ve been bowling for years with different manufacturers before I settled down with Motiv. My average flexed between a 186 and 190 from year to year. Got the Alpha Jackal the week it was released and, aside from the first week I threw it, I haven’t bowled a single game under 200. My average, over the past six weeks, has gone from a 186 to a 199 and I’ve flirted with two 700 series in the past three weeks alone. I'm leaving fewer 10 pins as the ball carries through the pocket with nearly zero deflection. I just ordered two more the ball is that good. Only drawback...people think I’ve been sandbagging all year. Fortunately he was an early adopter of the Alpha Jackal as well and recently bowled his first 300 so he’s been vouching for just how amazing this ball is. I am a Motiv convert and strongly recommend this ball.

    Pleasantly Suprised

I did not think I would like this ball. I do better with angular balls. However, this ball gives me enough bite in mid-lane to throw the ball out and it will come back. I haven't had a ton of time with this ball, but I have also thrown it up the second arrow on a heavy oil in the inside shot.

The biggest thing is that it retains energy and motion. I am hoping to use it more often and it will be one of the balls I take to USBC Open.

    Turnaround

The ball has became my best friend and is amazing. I'm getting higher scores and my average is improving after switching to the Alpha. I switched to a different ball after I made my LE a spare ball and it had a negative effect on me. I was fortunate to receive the Alpha as a Christmas gift and it's getting me back on track. This ball is madly aggressive and it's the ball I have been looking for. 5 stars and I will always recommend this to my friends.
