The Blue Coral Venom™ is the first ever hybrid asymmetric found in the 10-year history of the Venom™ line. The latest stage of evolution in the wildly successful Venom™ line, the Blue Coral Venom™ focuses on versatility and benchmark reaction for moderately high friction surfaces. An upgrade to the Venom™ Recoil, the Blue Coral Venom™ provides more traction in the oil with a stronger and more continuous down lane motion.

With the Coercion™ MFH Reactive cover, the Motiv Blue Coral Venom™ provides plenty of length through the front of the lane, while picking up in the middle of the lane with a smooth and controllable transition. This hybrid cover is remarkable thanks to its ability to provide traction in the oil, without sacrificing control down lane. This performance provides the strength and incredible versatility that the Venom™ line is known for.

Versatility is also what makes the Gear™ APG core special.  Its low differential and asymmetry allow the Blue Coral Venom™ bowling ball to attack the pins from shallower angles using a more aggressive cover stock.  Originally deployed because weight holes were being eliminated, the slight asymmetry of this core gives ball drillers more options than a typical symmetric design.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers: For speed dominant bowlers, this will be a medium dry lane ball for use at shallow angles.  While many balls for medium-dry to dry lanes tend to skip past the break point for speed dominant bowlers, the high performance coverstock on the Blue Coral Venom™ will have no trouble gripping the lane.  Additionally, the Gear™ APG core allows players who like to play straighter to do so with more ease.  This should be a great ball for speed dominant players to play more direct on fairly dry lanes.

  • Balanced Bowlers:  Bowlers with speed and rev rate that match will find many uses for the Blue Coral Venom™, due to the versatility it offers.  This Venom™ has more traction in the oil than any before it.  The Blue Coral Venom™ has more traction in oil than the Venom™ Shock, and offers much more control than the Fatal Venom™.  Balanced bowlers will be able to use the Blue Coral Venom™ from a variety of angles on medium to medium-dry lanes when other Venoms™ can’t dig in the oil, but other high performance balls are just too strong.

  • Rev Dominant Bowlers:  For rev dominant bowlers the Blue Coral Venom™ is a perfect benchmark ball.  Due to lower speed or higher rev rates, players of this classification often need to “ball down” from what balanced or speed dominant bowlers would use.  While the Blue Coral Venom™ is classified as a medium-dry oil ball, for those who are rev dominant it is a benchmark that offers moderately clean and controllable ball motion.

Here at Motiv Bowling, we want you to excel when you step out on the lane, and there’s no better way to do that than by using one of our high-quality, high-performance bowling balls. Whether you’re just starting out or have been a bowling pro for years, we’re sure to have something that’s right for you and your skill level!

    SICK…Absolutely SICK!

Where to start with this ball…I don’t often make reviews as I am just an average bowler and still learning how things really work and unfold on the lanes due to patterns and ball specs. I have never thrown anything but Motiv since I decided to get involved with bowling…(26 balls later, yes I have a problem). With that being said, this ball here is by far my favorite piece from Motiv I have thrown since I first threw the Ghost. Where the Coral lays on the ball chart is an understatement if I might add. I literally can control this ball as it is very predictable on what it’s going to do. It’s not at all what I expected, but not complaining over here. Much like the Shock, this ball is just stronger for some odd reason and hits like a truck! I struggled putting this ball in my bag and leaving the Shock at home but decided against it as…well who the hell leaves their Shock at home? Am I right? Needless to say, this Coral will roll with me wherever I go for the foreseeable future. Thanks Motiv for making not just another great ball, but a ball that will be hard for me to put back in the box and place on a shelf. Stay MOTIVated!

    3 Balls 37 Lines!!!

I’ve been experimenting since I first reviewed this ball. All I can say is this thing is almost illegally lethal! I’m able to play all arrows and boards of the lane without having to adjust the surface much at all. It’s a very forgiving ball if you miss by a few because of the core shape storing up the energy and exploding in the 5ft mark from the 1 pin. I’ve had 3 790’s with these balls and have a coral only bag now!

This Ball is the Next Legacy in the Venom Line

I am amazed how good the Coral Venom is! I expected it to be in line with the Venom Shock, but to my surprise it gives me a totally different look. I drilled this ball 60x4x20 and haven't looked back. It is another smooth ball from Motiv with just the right amount of bite. For the way I throw the ball the Coral Venom fits perfectly with the Venom Shock on our house pattern, this certainly is a one two punch that the other ball manufacturers better watch out for. If you want a ball that devastates the pins on the backend but you know exactly what to expect, the Coral Venom is the right ball for you.

    Great ball

Just recently started bowling a lot more. Been bowling off and on the past few years. Decided to get back into it more. I love the Motiv line up and saw this ball and I had to have it. I average around 170. I have thrown over 30 games in the past month with this ball and it doesn’t disappoint at all. Highest game was a 237. This ball is much sharper down the lane. It’s a must have, goes through the pins with ease.
