The Coral Venom has become my new benchmark ball as the first piece I take out of my bag for practice. Overall, the hybrid cover and asymmetric version of the Venom line matches my eyes, shot shape, and comfortable area of the lane. As a slightly speed dominant higher rev player with a lower track, this Venom has become my most versatile ball in the series.
In comparing the Coral Venom to my Venom Shock, they provided similar length out of box but with a stronger motion and aggressive continuous shape downlane. While the balls were similar out of box, I was able to create a bigger gap in shapes when taking my Coral Venom down to 1500 grit compared to a lane-shined Venom Shock.
Overall, the hybrid coverstock with the asymmetric core has been more versatile compared to my previous Venom Recoil. I find myself being able to play virtually any shot shape on medium/heavy and medium/lighter patterns.
The limitation I have found with the Coral Venom is on fresher heavy volume patterns. Once the pattern begins to transition, the Coral Venom becomes a great option down from my Trident Odyssey and/or Jackal Ghost.

The Venom line has been a staple with MOTIV for over a decade, and the Blue Coral is a worthy addition to its heritage. Sporting the Coercion MFH Reactive coverstock (finished at 4000 grip LSS) wrapped around the asymmetric Gear APC core (2.47 RG, .036 Differential) first seen in the Venom Recoil, this new entry provides excellent performance in the Medium to Medium-Light condition category.
I laid my Blue Coral out with a stronger pin, then lightly hit it with a 3000 abralon pad by hand, to give myself something with a bit more punch than my Shock overall but keeping its intended down lane motion intact. When I first brought it out in league, it was just a bit less than what I needed for the fresh but showed enough that it could be great once the transition hit. Transitioning down from my Mythic Jackal, the Blue Coral did not miss a beat for the rest of the league night. Where the transition had carved the midlane and mucked up the backend, this ball handled both quite well. The cover has just enough bite to not fully skate through everything up front thereby allowing the Gear APC to power into the ‘roll’ motion just before hitting that carry down. As the night progressed, I was able to continue moving left with this ball even through the second defined transition, finding that it could handle larger launch angles and still make it back to the pocket. Even with the stronger pin placement I have on mine, the ability of the Blue Coral Venom to open-up the lane is a benefit to my arsenal when strong shells are too early and weaker shell/core combos are not enough the drive through to the pit. This is an excellent mid-block ball for me, bridging the gap between my ‘big block’ pieces (Mythic Jackal, Trident Horizon) and later-day stuff (Shock, Tank line).

The Blue Coral Venom might just be the next goat for Motiv. Obviously, the Venom Shock has proven itself time and time again and the Blue Coral Venom has stepped up to the plate. The blue coral is the first hybrid asymmetric in the Venom line. The coercion MFH cover mixed with the proven Gear APG core allows for versatility while drilling the ball to create different motions. I consider the Blue Coral as the perfect compliment to the Venom Shock. I have used this ball a lot on medium-short patterns and when there is friction, It offers great control of the pocket. If you want success and versatility, the Blue Coral Venom is for you.

This Blue Coral Venom is another staple in the Venom line. With this Venom being the first ever hybrid, it reads the mid-lane and continues to push until it finds the dry and hooks. This ball is very controllable and continuous. It allows me to play different zones knowing that it will be smooth down lane and split the 8 and 9 pin. This is a must have ball in any bowler’s bag.

For those who have been hoping for a better version of the Recoil, well here you Go! The New Blue Coral Venom is very versatile! Several drilling options available for anyone and for any style!!!! The Gear APG core is welcomed back in this ball, wrapped in the Coercion MFH Reactive cover! This is the perfect combination of the two, that gives you great shape! The cover runs smoothly through the oil, and the Asymmetric Gear core flips this ball at the friction and straight into the pocket!
This ball is perfect to start with on a typical house shot, for any balanced bowler! I would use this ball first then bring out my Shock if needed to finish out the night.
Highly, Highly Recommend this ball!
