View Privacy PolicyI just picked up bowling again after 15 years and figured that I would invest in a good bowling ball since I am really starting to enjoy this sport again. After doing my research it seemed like the Blue Coral Venom would definitely fit my bowling style. After upgrading from an Ebonite Magnum ball that I have had for a very long time and I'm sure this ball it's not meant to be curved. This Blue Coral Venom definitely made it huge impact the first game I played with it. By the fifth game I bowled a 263. I was completely shocked on our much my score has changed from the old ball to this new one.

I got the Coral Venom for my second Motiv ball purchase and it’s a ball that is slept on for sure. I love how it is very smooth and reads the middle part of the lane very well. It’s definitely my benchmark ball and it’s super versatile for me.

This is my 1st Motiv ball I have bought. I have been bowling great with it. I bowled 289 with it on my second week in league play. Great on the back ends.

In my opinion we’ve never had a bad Venom ball, they’re always so versatile and can generally play on any condition so long as your feet are in the right spot. The Blue Coral Venom is more of the same great lineage. Most of the Motiv Nation loves their Venom Shocks but for my rev dominate game it can be way too much for a general house shot, either too fast to friction on fresh or flat off the spot in transition. The Blue Coral offers me a cleaner version of the Shock that is MUCH more versatile in the dry spots on our local house shots. The Shock will see friction sooner and just as fast. The Motion of the Coral just gets a little further down-lane with the same motion.
The layout I chose for this piece was 70x4.5x40 (4.5x5.5x2.5 VLS) in an attempt to create more flare downlane while being straighter through the heads. I was first conflicted with drilling an asymmetrical ball with a weaker cover in comparison to the Shock having a weaker core but stronger cover, hence using the asymmetry for downlane motion instead of early flare. The box finish was rather course and a little tumbly but after a few sets and some lane shine the reaction settles down. I would still recommend hitting the shell with a used 4000 abralon or P5000D CTD pad after a set or two.
All in all, I feel many bowlers will love the cover on this ball. It’s far from snappy and offers tons of control. It can blend misses with the hand or lane to a degree better than a pearl while still reading enough in oil to avoid hydroplaning through the breakpoint. This one is going in my main bag next to my Carbide Tank and Venom Shock Pearl, bumping out the Shock!

Had this ball for quite a while but didn't know where it fit in my arsenal at the time as I had it drilled pin down, but as I threw it more and got comfortable with it this ball is now my go to when the Ghost can no longer do it and I there is no looking back been bowling high 7's like never before Thanks to this baby
