Fatal Venom

The Fatal Venom™ provides a deadly combination of length with an angular strike on light-medium oil conditions.  It features the latest MOTIV® cover technology and the outstanding original Gear™ core from the Venom™ Shock.

The Gear™ core gives the Fatal Venom™ both low RG and low differential so it spins super-fast with minimal track flare.  The result is a stable ball motion with massive energy retention.

Utilizing the latest Infusion™ Pearl Reactive cover, the Fatal Venom™ offers great length and angularity. These traction characteristics joined with the control of the Gear™ core provide a clean and moderately angular motion that is ideal for scoring on drier lanes.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant: For straighter angles on moderately dry lanes.  The Gear core and Infusion combo will allow the bowler to use the pearl to clear the front without sacrificing control down lane.
  • Balanced: A great dry lane benchmark piece.  If you know that there is not a lot of volume on the lane or the lane surface is higher friction, this will be a great first ball out of the bag.
  • Rev Dominant: When the most angular balls in the product line are too much down lane, the Fatal Venom will be the go-to option.

    Worst Ball I have thrown.

I honestly would rather throw a bouncy ball at the pins. It may hook more than this? I understand that this ball is not the strongest in the line, but it does not do the same thing twice. I hate this ball I would rather throw plastic.

    Great Venom Piece

When I started bowling I got started with the Jackal line, I was always told to get myself a Venom. I went to pickup the shock but ended up picking this fatal venom up instead. This ball is great for getting through the fronts when the lanes are tough but still gives that nasty venom bite on the backend to snap back to the pocket with that nasty continuation!

Great piece to have in any bag, and combine this with the venom shock and you got a deadly combination

    Fatal Venom

My 3rd favorite Venom behind the Venom Shock Pearl (VSP) and Recoil. It’s probably what the VSP should’ve been as many bowlers felt the shape was too clean and smooth. The Fatal on the other hand is much stronger to friction and a much better ball down from the Shock in shape.

I chose a stronger layout 4” x 30deg for this piece to attempt to place a wider divide between my beloved VSP (5”x35deg layout) and my go around with the multiple Shocks. Whether cover and/or layout the ball is head and shoulders more ball overall than the VSP. Getting a little picky I felt the ball was a little over/under out of box offering plenty of skid but the hook phase was too quick. I tried first teasing with a used dry 2000CTD before finally going with a wet hand P5000D. The surface seemed to amplify the overall reaction but gave it more control off the spot. The ball only gets better with a little breakdown and friction through the midlane.

I still carry a polished VSP along the Fatal in my 3 ball bag. The Fatal working better on transition and the VSP handling the burn/pot games. While the Recoil may not follow shape wise in a ball up/down progression, it’s versatility is unparalleled. The 3 balls offer a killer typical house shot bag. Sub out the VSP for something more condition specific whether earlier (Pride) or more downlane (Enzo).

Conclusion… With a little surface this ball works better in my high rev hands for fresher synthetic lanes than the Shock ever did. Without the house shot cliff and dry to ditch this ball too some may find it too clean on tougher conditions, more Shock like conditions.
