Fatal Venom

The Fatal Venom™ provides a deadly combination of length with an angular strike on light-medium oil conditions.  It features the latest MOTIV® cover technology and the outstanding original Gear™ core from the Venom™ Shock.

The Gear™ core gives the Fatal Venom™ both low RG and low differential so it spins super-fast with minimal track flare.  The result is a stable ball motion with massive energy retention.

Utilizing the latest Infusion™ Pearl Reactive cover, the Fatal Venom™ offers great length and angularity. These traction characteristics joined with the control of the Gear™ core provide a clean and moderately angular motion that is ideal for scoring on drier lanes.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant: For straighter angles on moderately dry lanes.  The Gear core and Infusion combo will allow the bowler to use the pearl to clear the front without sacrificing control down lane.
  • Balanced: A great dry lane benchmark piece.  If you know that there is not a lot of volume on the lane or the lane surface is higher friction, this will be a great first ball out of the bag.
  • Rev Dominant: When the most angular balls in the product line are too much down lane, the Fatal Venom will be the go-to option.

    Happy rev bowler

I chose the Fatal Venom ball at the end of a summer get your gear league. I’ll be honest, I mostly picked it based on appearance but knew it was for sure the one I wanted after reading reviews and watching videos. I’ve used only this ball since August 2022 and have been happy with it. I’m carrying a higher average than I ever have before. I usually have a 130 average and have maintained a 145+ in both of the leagues I am currently in. This ball can have a ton of movement or I can bowl it straight. It has been an amazing transition ball for me going to something with more movement. My previous ball I could throw straight, with a slight hook, or back-up. The Fatal Venom has challenged me to learn the technique of adjusting my boards, approach, and speed to get the desired effect. I couldn’t be happier with this ball and the Motiv brand!

Fills the last spot in my arsenal...

My home center is Holly Lanes (same as Andrew Anderson). The center has older wood lanes that play very different from synthetic. Bowling on wood, I wouldn't normally look at a late breaking pearl ball but I needed a couple options in my bag where I could play straighter when on synthetic. The first ball I purchased was the Sky Raptor. The Raptor is fantastic but super strong. I knew I needed a ball that had similar action but a weaker core so I could bowl a line and then bring out the Sky Raptor when the lanes transitioned and I needed something to get through the carry-down. The Fatal Venom compliments this very well. I can throw it on the wood lanes but pearls aren't my first choice for the softer lanes. On synthetics, I am not shy about playing the straighter lines and starting out with the pearls. Great ball and great addition to my arsenal. 6 ball arsenal = Mythic Jackal, Sky Raptor, Trident Odyssey, Pride, Venom Shock, Fatal Venom

First Motiv Ball I Ever Rolled

My brother had the Fatal Venom and let me test it out one day. After throwing this ball a few times I fell in love with the Motiv brand. Started checking out their other balls and now it’s all I keep in my bag.

Game 3, break out the Fatal

Lanes drying out? Need to go a little longer than the Shock? Need to get past that carry down when you're a little tired?

This Fatal Venom has worked great for me when that's what I've needed. Fresh conditions... not my first choice. Can you or Could you...sure... but there are other better choices, Shock, Coral, etc. BUT... before I put my size 10.5 in my mouth. That's on the conditions I've thrown it. House shot and a few Sport shots. It's not my first ball out. Could there be a condition some day... Possibly, but I don't see this ball as "that" spot in my bag.

This ball is clean through the front part of the lane, and for me has a slight delay when reading the friction, I can get it down the lane a little farther past most of the carry down, then it turns and drives. Because of this "delay" for me, It needs to see the friction a touch earlier than some of my other gear. So a worn shot when things are starting to pull up high, I can grab this and keep going.

Open bowl, my second game throwing the Fatal Venom was a 279. (dang 10 pin) That's pretty tough to argue in my book.

Now it does have its limits where it will burn up and lose energy, But to me that just says it's the wrong condition for that ball at that time. And really, that's super beat conditions, where I'm balling down to my Purple Tank or stepping farther in and grabbing my Supra.

    Something Different

This Fatal Venom is something different. When this ball first came out I bought one and drilled it pin up, 4x25 if I remember right, and I couldn't stand it. I eventually sold it because I just didn't match up with it.

Fast forward to a couple months ago where I came into this Fatal Venom which is pin down and I get along with it very well. It's one of those balls that just gives me a different look than anything else I have.
