I usually match up well with hybrid ball motions. The Forge Fire was what I expected it to be. The Fire fits in my line up right between my Ghost and Golden. When the Ghost is too early and smooth and the Golden is too long and sharp, all I do is pull out the FIRE! First 2 nights out I was able to play where no one else could and score higher. Great gap filler in any arsenal.

I picked this one up as I was talking to my Proshop about a ball that will get my ball to hook better in these oily lanes. He opened a shipment that just came in and pulled out the Motive Forge. First thing was how awesome it looked. Then he told me about the Infusion Hybrid Reactive cover and how it will give my hook a better angle. So I used it that same night in league play. I warmed up with it and I liked it, but didn’t use it during the first game. After a 155 I said hell, why not use it. After the first frame was a 9. After that I hit 9 in a row and had a 266. Amazing game. Seemed the harder I threw it the better it got. Then I noticed that I had a sweeper on my pin action. I never had one my whole life and now it was all the time. The pins action was crushing it. The Infusion Hybrid cover was so insane. I truly can’t tell you what a game changer this ball has made. I cannot wait til I get back to try this beast out. Oh now my team mates are now calling me “El Fuego”.

Born from the combined might of two new and exciting technologies, the MOTIV Forge Fire has burst onto the scene for those looking for a medium-heavy oil ball. To create a new standout ball that would combat these conditions, a marriage of previous 2019 releases took place. The Detonator core (2.47RG, .055Diff) first used in the Forge has been brought back because of its hard-revving action and flare-producing potential. The Infusion reactive cover was then beefed up into a hybrid version (finished at 4000 LSS) in order to provide more surface traction in the oil while still utilizing its natural quick response time when friction is found. While that stand-out yellow and burgundy color is amazing, it’s the reaction on the lane that has wowed me the most.
Having enjoyed my Forge quite a bit, I laid the Fire out the same way figuring that the VAL angle and the quicker responding shell would allow me to open up the lane more than that original; oh it did. Even on a fresh THS you can see the ball starting to churn early in the midlane thereby helping to read and blend the pattern a little bit. Even with that effect happening, the Infusion coverstock still retains an impressive amount of energy allowing for a pronounced motion off the friction. This rare combination of midlane control with aggressive backend finish creates an extremely versatile ball that has allowed me to attack the lane at a multitude of angels across multiple arrows. The most impressive showing I have had to date was when I started game one laying down at 18 and crossing at 14 then finishing the three-game set still throwing the Fire laying down 33 and crossing 22. For comparison, when throwing my original Forge I could start the day on a similar line but would have to ball down in game two because the angle of attack just became too much for the ball to make the turn and slap out the ten. I have also found that the Fire reads a solid two to three feet sooner than my Rogue Assassin even though it has a stronger pin to PAP layout (4”). The only time I have truly run into trouble with this ball to date is when there is not enough oil in the heads to get the ball down the lane. The aggressive combination of cover and core necessitates that oil be plentiful up front to unleash this ball’s full potential.
To me the Forge Fire is an aggressive benchmark ball. If you need something that will hook in the oil that will also give you a bit of forgiveness by creating room with response to downlane friction, this ball is a must have in your bag.

If you want to be seen, this is the ball that will get everyone’s attention. The kicker is, that performs even better. The OG Forge is one of my favorite balls in Motiv’s Line. Once my Forge stops making the corner, I can switch to the Forge Fire and keep chasing the pattern left. Good midlane with a strong round shape. I especially like using this ball on sport conditions with high friction backends and I can throw it to a spot, this ball will bleed of some energy before making its move. Think of it as a Benchmark type roll with some punch. There is a reason Motiv staff players have one of these in their bag, I highly suggest you do to.

Motiv’s new Forge Fire is just flat out good. Buy it. Put it in your bag. You won’t be disappointed. This ball has the new Infusion Hybrid Reactive cover on top of the Forge Detonator core. Being a speed dominate bowler, the Forge was just too early unless I had a ton of volume. This ball is just so much better and more versatile. The cover is clean through the fronts and the ball explodes down-lane. On most league nights you have to migrate left as the pattern gets destroyed. But for speed dominate players carry becomes a problem from inside angles. Not with this ball. It just rips off the spot. I leave more 4 pins than ever before when I am moving in. This is a special release. It’s currently my favorite ball in the bag. Look at my prior reviews. I will say it’s good etc. This is different and really fun to throw.
