Introducing the new Hydra from Motiv Bowling. A new fast response ball replacing the Tag Cannon. Still using the same core, but Motiv wrapped it in a quicker and faster cover to give players the ability to get inside and free wheel to the right (or left if you’re left handed) knowing that the ball is going to bounce off the friction and destroy the pocket. I’ve been able to play a variety of angles with this ball.
I can say that it’s not just meant to go inside when the lanes were dry. I’ve found success throwing this ball straighter up the lane when the fronts may be gone but the shot is still outside, this ball is amazing. As you’ll come to quickly figure out, it has no problem getting around the corner from in as well. Enjoy this new piece from Motiv! She’s a keeper!

At first glace you notice the Hydra sits under the Venom Shock Pearl on the ball guide so you think this ball will be "weaker" or less ball or whatever the case may be. Don't let its position on the guide fool you, this Hydra flat out hooks. It clears the heads with ease as you expect with the Hexion cover, then the proven Halogen core as made popular by the Tag unleashes a violet reaction that leaves no pin standing. This ball truly goes through the pins better than any pearl Motiv has put out. I am not a HUGE fan of pearls but this Hydra has definitely found a home in my league bag as well as my tournament bag. At first I threw it with its out of box finish and it gave me that ultra clean reaction. Then I scuffed up the surface with a 1000 pad and then 4000 on top of that and my oh my was it awesome. It brought my break point a little closer to me and still shredded the rack time after time. I highly recommend this ball !!!

The new Motiv Hydra is one of the most versatile balls yet, i have thrown mines and house shots as well as sports shots and have yet to not like my look. On medium oil shoots the hydra is clean down lane and with a good smooth arch to the pocket keeping the pins low and increasing carry. now on light oiled lanes i was able to move in deep and not lose my carry with for me is a bonus..... for me i give the Hydra 10 thumbs up
