Most seasoned bowlers will tell you not to use shiny stuff on house shots, especially on fresh house shots, because the shiny cover won't gain traction in the oil and the ball will be flippy and overly touchy downlane. And while that's true to an extent (that's just physics), the Iron Forge has been pleasantly surprising for me in that exact scenario.
Against the common advice, I throw mine on a house shot in league, and for me (two-hander), it's just the right amount of everything. Just enough shine to get through the front, but not so much that it misses the spot. Just enough dig to gain traction in the oil, but not so much that it forces me left. And most importantly, just enough core to recover from deeper angles, but not SO much core that it overwhelms the cover or forces me too far left too soon.
Calling it a Goldilocks ball might be a bit of a stretch, but I'm willing to risk it. :)

The Iron Forge is a amazing ball it has really helped my game it has brought my average from a 180 to 200 since I started using it I really love how it reads the lane and smashes the pins this ball is my favorite of my Motiv balls so far and as for Motiv as a company they have really taken care of me if something went wrong with one of my balls you didn’t have a problem replacing it I love Iron Forge and the Motiv Company thanks for Reading

I purchased the Iron Forge in March. I like to wait to do a review make sure it’s what I like instead of over reacting to first use. First I’d like to give a shout out to the great staff at Motiv. Before I purchased this ball I was interacting with Nick Pahr about which ball I should go with Pride or Forge! I gave him a list of my Arsenal said this would best fit. But the best thing he did was help me decide the proper layout from the specs o gave him all ocean say WOW! Thank you Nick!
On to the review I did a 45x4.5x35 layout on this ball. Usually pearls don’t really match my game to well, but this ball is definitely a ball that needs to be in anyones bag. Very versatile. I can say close to my benchmark ball. I’ve always done well with cover heavy/core heavy bowlong balls. The Pearl on this ball doesn’t text like a Pearl to me. It reads the midland very well with a good punch at the end.

Love this ball. Strong symmetrical pearl.

Love how this ball drives thru the pins! I’m more of a straight like #10-15 board player, this ball is real smooth thru the middle then snaps thru the pocket! It is the first one out of my bag!
