View Privacy PolicyAs a huge fan of the Ghost, as one might guess, I was stoked to find out about a new Jackal in the making.
After throwing mine for about a month now, I can say that this ball absolutely lives up to the name. It's a full zone stronger than the Ghost, which is great for when I really need to open the lanes up, and it's actually smoother off the spot, which allows me to have a nice, controllable backend reaction on a harder pattern.
I had to move 5 boards right (as a righty) from where I stood with the Rising to find the pocket with my Ghost, and an additional 4 boards to carry, so yeah, it's definitely stronger.
Unsurprisingly, it drives through the pins just as well as any of my other favorite Motiv balls, and takes very well to surface changes, which is a must.
I see myself throwing this on harder patterns and higher volume house shots.
Don't miss out on this one!!

I love this ball. It rolls so smooth and easy. It has such power on the back end that it destroys the pins regularly. It's quickly become my favorite ball after only owning it for a week. I bowled my first ever 300 game with it the second time I used it, just love it.

Ball is so smooth for me. Really blends out the wet/dry. Just shot 297-802 with this ball. Since purchasing the Rising my sets have been 690-674-606-693-706-706-802. These scores were bowled at 4 different houses. Ball is way more versatile than I had ever imagined. Best ball I have put in my bag in a long time. Also have a polished Ghost which is a nice step down from the Rising. Anybody on the fence ,hopefully this pushes over the top. Happy I switched to Motiv.

With this ball having the ability to carve through oil I wanted this ball to roll early and have a quick response. This ball allows me to play very angular when facing heavy oil. Being a speed dominate player(20.4mph) this ball never stops its motion and with the Predator V3 core I know this ball has the continuous motion to punish the pocket. What I really like about the Coercion HV@ Reactive Cover and core combination is how it can deal with the over under conditions when the oil pushes down. It's a TRUE FINISHER!!!
Highly Recommend!!

What was once a Ghost is now Rising to the living. The Jackal Rising is the next evolution of the Jackal line. The new Coercion HV2 coverstock (finished at 2000LSS) is more controlled off of the downlane spot than the Ghost which is created by its sharper teeth; this allows it to grip the midlane sooner. The Predator V3 core (2.47RG, .055Diff) has more intermediate differential than the Predator V2; this makes the ball rev up even more, creating more flare and more motion potential. Boasting these two new innovations, this ball is meant to tackle the heaviest of oil conditions. Out of the box mine showed how early it could hook yet it still did not lose the line-characteristic of superior drive through the pins. I saw early read in the mids, a controlled motion at the breakpoint, and devastating motion into the pit. For my typical house shot it was a bit strong so I polished it up while leaving the grit untouched. This gave me a bit more length through the heads yet retained a similar overall motion. Even with the slightly increased breakpoint angle due to the retained energy I never felt like the Rising was going to do anything unpredictable. For me this ball is best utilized early where there is plenty of oil and my angles are straighter. Once I start opening up the transition to the Trident Quest is almost seamless. If a heavy oil buster is what you need, the Rising is a great option.
