Previously I only owned a Jackal LE and I was not disappointed with that ball so I felt very good about drilling a Rising. My first test was on a 42 foot pattern with moderate volume. I was able to burn a hole for myself while everyone else was skidding way past the break point. People kept coming over to ask me what ball I was using. I wanted to keep it a secret but the dog was out of the bag :). After 6 games I was 231 over and the ball was still holding and hitting. It had a better read than the LE but the same hitting power. I'm not sure how it will do on a shorter pattern but there are other Motiv balls for that. I know you are thinking he has to say this he's on Motiv Staff. Well at the time I was not and I would use this ball whether I was on staff or not. There are many great heavy oil balls out there today but you can't go wrong with the Rising. So if your looking to buy your first Motiv or you already have one don't be afraid you will get striking results. Good luck and good bowling!

I drilled my Jackal Rising 70 x 3 3/8 x 20. The purpose of this layout was to try and fit the rising in between my two Jackal ghosts. I had quite a bit of gap from where my pin down ghost with a little bit of surface begins to lose shape and energy at the pins from where I need to be for the pin up ghost with lane shine to go thru the pins properly.
This layout did just the trick and without having to manipulate the surface. I am able to hit the Rising each time I bowl a 2000 pad to maintain consistent shape.
The 3 3/8 pin position is a little more stable than I usually drill on asymmetrical balls. After using this ball in a few tournaments, it is definitely more versatile than I thought it would be. I have been able to use this ball on a variety of patterns, volumes, lane surfaces, and lengths. For me it has rolled best thus far on fresh shorter and longer patterns.
The Rising has a shape similar to the Ghosts but for me it is a least 2 or 3 feet earlier in the midlane. It is a little more smoother than the ghosts but can cover more boards overall left to right (steeper angles in the front), and still goes thru the pins well.
I have drilled a few for customers and they are loving this ball on our house pattern. 42 feet blend on wood, 20ml.

I was very sceptical about straying from the Storm Roto Grip line for fear that I wouldn't get enough hooking power that I needed being left handed. Since my purchase I have found this ball to not only out hook my other brands. It has a great down lane reaction and tends to strike ALOT!!!. This ball does everything there claiming it will do. I have tried this ball on both synthetic and wood lanes and it works well on both surfaces, it is just a BEAST!!!!! I would like to thank Rob Baileys pro shop for recommending this ball for my arsenal.

Wow! To simply put it. I am very excited to throw this ball to say the least.
I started with its factory out of box finish at 2000 grit to see what the ball did first and go from there. After seeing how clean but aggressive this ball is, I decided to change the surface and scuff it lightly with a 500 pad.
This scuff allowed the ball to pick up a tad bit earlier while still retaining it's energy downlane.
Because this ball is so smooth and predicable it really allows me to play tighter angles and not give up the pocket, keep in mind however that this ball needs and loves higher volume lane conditions. The thing that most impressed me with this ball is usually with bigger balls once the front part of the lanes go away I am forced to ball down to something less aggressive. With the Jackal Rising being so clean through the fronts I am able to stay with it through the block and make minor adjustments. Something I am not able to do often. This ball is hands down the first ball on the rack when shoeing up. You will not be disappointed! Cheers to some high scores!

all the stars in the galaxy must have been lined up on Feb 11 2018. I shot my first 300 game along with having an 804 series using the Jackal Rising ball. I bought the ball mostly for heavier oil on sports shots. When I tried it in league I was amazed that it gave me more options of where I could play. No matter where I played the ball has a very consistent reaction with continual drive thru the pocket. Once you get lined up this is the ball to use for all conditions because you will always get the back end reaction even when you move left. I'm now able to adjust to ringing 10 pins knowing that I can trust this ball if I need to move a little left. I have a 202 league average from last year and have continually tried to improve my game with coaches, bowling camps/clinics. In addition to all that you need a ball you can trust. The Jackal Rising is definitely a ball you can trust from any part of the lane. THANK YOU Motiv for consistently making high quality performance balls!
