Combining two of MOTIV®’s greatest releases, the Primal Rage and Venom Shock, the Primal Shock bowling ball takes the best of both balls to create something truly special. Turmoil MFS cover technology from the Venom Shock and the Impulse V2 core from the Primal Rage combine to provide strong mid-lane traction with plenty of angle down lane. Turmoil MFS technology has been a benchmark for MOTIV, providing moderate mid-lane traction with plenty of down lane motion. Featured in the longest running MOTIV ball of all time, the Venom Shock, this cover perfectly balances control and aggression. This is the pinnacle of benchmark ball motion.

The Primal Shock takes the ultimate benchmark ball motion found in the Venom Shock and amps up performance by pairing it with the strong Impulse V2 core found in the Primal Rage. This core creates incredibly strong down-lane motion and marks a significant upgrade in overall core strength from the Gear core found in the Venom Shock. When paired with the Turmoil MFS cover, the result is a medium-heavy and moderately angular monster that is a must have in every bag.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - Many speed dominant bowlers are unable to use balls with differentials as low as the Venom Shock. A more dynamic core allows these bowlers to use the same cover stock, but with a motion that suits them. The Primal Shock will be a moderately angular complement to a speed dominant bowler’s benchmark ball. This will be an outstanding first transition ball for bowlers with excessive speed or lower rev rates.
  • Balanced Bowlers - The Venom Shock is a balanced bowler’s dream. It’s been the benchmark ball for those bowlers for years now and will continue to be. Over the years, many balanced bowlers have said that they’d like a more angular Venom Shock and one that could create more down lane motion. The Primal Shock is that ball.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The highest rev rate and lowest speed bowlers will use the Primal Shock on fresh oil and high volume patterns when they need to create some angle. Before the rev dominant players can get all the way into the angular pearls, a Primal Shock will allow for easy mid-lane read and moderate angle to start opening up their angles on transitioning lanes.

    Primal Shock Outstanding

    I was out of bowling for several years when a friend convinced me to bowl again. I was unfamiliar with Motiv until my friend educated me. I was very impressed by Motiv’s story and products, so I bought a Jackal Ghost. I was very impressed and bought the Venom Shock next, which again I was impressed. I was struggling with my second game in league bowling week after week so I decided to buy the Primal Shock. WOW, this ball is what I needed. I preorder the Primal Shock so I was the first bowler to roll it at league. Several people came up to me during league asking what I was rolling, stating “that ball sounds different when it hits the pins”, “It hits like a Mack truck”, and “ I have never seen that much pin action”. Several other bowlers went to the pro shop that night and ordered the Primal Shock after watching my improvement with the Primal Shock. I was very impressed with this ball and for the next three weeks I did not throw a game under 200 and rolled a 711. I must say I have only rolled it for three weeks but still have not rolled under a 200. My average has increased over 30 pins because of this ball. The Primal Shock will become one of Motiv’s all time best bowling balls. I have never written a review before but the Primal Shock is so outstanding I had to give credit where credit is due. THANK YOU! !

    The Beast is unleashed

    This ball is a great addition to any bag. Absolutely love the motion off the friction. Love how this gets through the front and stores a massive amount of energy for down lane. A extremely nice controllable roll complimented with a strong down lane reaction.

    Been waiting for this core/cover combo for a long time. Super stoked to have this ball in my hand. I've had this ball over a month now and it is definitely in the bag.

    Great hitting power

    As an older female bowler who does not have the high revs and ball speed of many younger bowlers, I often have trouble with carry. The Primal Shock has a great reaction on the lane and hits the pocket hard. I have a 165 average, but my first two games with this ball were 200's!! Thanks Motiv!!

    I threw a 658 series with this right out of the box....I'm a mid 180s bowler. I love the predictability of this ball! It was right where I needed it all night! Go get your self one!!!

    The Mashup We Were Waiting For

    Listen Up, For Months I have been raving about the Sky Raptor, Forge Ember, Pride Empire among a couple of others. Put them down, they have a place - but right now, In this moment. This is the one, this is the ball you need to be throwing. Let me explain

    What you have here is the Cover from arguably the GOAT in the Venom Shock and have paired it with the Core from the Primal Series. Think about that, A ball shape similar to the Shock but with the pickup and drive of a Primal. If that doesn't excite you - Are you sure you're a Motiv Maniac?

    As for mine personally, Its the first ball out of my bag. The predictability of the Shock Cover gives this a Calming Benchmark Feel but the Drive of the Primal Block answers the call of the last couple of years where on some occasions I felt my angles got a little to wide for the shock to be at it's best. I now get to keep that Feel but can open up the shape just a little more and what feeling of power that provides. After a minor surface adjustment and getting some games / lane shine built into it I have been off to the races posting multiple series over 740 in the last handful of weeks.
