Combining two of MOTIV®’s greatest releases, the Primal Rage and Venom Shock, the Primal Shock bowling ball takes the best of both balls to create something truly special. Turmoil MFS cover technology from the Venom Shock and the Impulse V2 core from the Primal Rage combine to provide strong mid-lane traction with plenty of angle down lane. Motiv’s Primal Shock dominates medium to heavy oil conditions, offering a vast array of options to attack the lanes. This is a can’t miss combination that bowlers have been asking for since 2013!

Turmoil MFS technology has been a benchmark for MOTIV, providing moderate mid-lane traction with plenty of down lane motion. Featured in the longest running MOTIV ball of all time, the Venom Shock, this cover perfectly balances control and aggression. This is the pinnacle of benchmark ball motion.

The Primal Shock takes the ultimate benchmark ball motion found in the Venom Shock and amps up performance by pairing it with the strong Impulse V2 core found in the Primal Rage. This core creates incredibly strong down-lane motion and marks a significant upgrade in overall core strength from the Gear core found in the Venom Shock. When paired with the Turmoil MFS cover, the result is a medium-heavy and moderately angular monster that is a must have in every bag.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - Many speed dominant bowlers are unable to use balls with differentials as low as the Venom Shock. A more dynamic core allows these bowlers to use the same cover stock, but with a motion that suits them. The Primal Shock will be a moderately angular complement to a speed dominant bowler’s benchmark ball. This will be an outstanding first transition ball for bowlers with excessive speed or lower rev rates.
  • Balanced Bowlers - The Venom Shock is a balanced bowler’s dream. It’s been the benchmark ball for those bowlers for years now and will continue to be. Over the years, many balanced bowlers have said that they’d like a more angular Venom Shock and one that could create more down lane motion. The Primal Shock is that ball.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - The highest rev rate and lowest speed bowlers will use the Primal Shock on fresh oil and high volume patterns when they need to create some angle. Before the rev dominant players can get all the way into the angular pearls, a Primal Shock will allow for easy mid-lane read and moderate angle to start opening up their angles on transitioning lanes.

    Love this ball!!!

    Just used mine in league and I can’t say enough about this ball. Super consistent reaction on the back ends and smooth throughout the mid-lane. It works great in my arsenal of balls. In my own opinion the ball seems to love oil and hits like a truck when it finds the pocket. I was able to average 228 out of the box with out struggling to find the pocket. Even if I missed right the ball with the rage core come roaring back. Awesome job MOTIV another great product!!!

    Super Strong

    I had this ball drilled pin-up. The pin is a bit higher than my usual position in order to give a bit more control. The first time I played with it, I had my highest series of the season (628). That was on a lane that hadn't been oiled in some time and had oil all the way down to the head pin. I rolled it straight up the 10 board and into the pocket every time. It was super easy. The first league night I rolled it, I couldn't keep it on the lane because it was so strong. I had to wait until the third game to use it. Others bowlers with more speed had an easier time with it. Definitely get it but use with caution! I haven't tried it, but I'm betting it's a super star on a sport pattern. Too strong for the medium house pattern.

    This ball is amazing piece I have spent so much money on Motiv equipment love it all but this piece goes everywhere I can play on so many patterns house shot EJ said it perfectly it plays off the Venom so well and some of the others I bought 4 of them two to save for later thank you Motiv for all the hard work y’all do on these bowling balls and that Ambush wow it’s amazing as well keep them coming can’t wait to see what’s next after the Black Venom ?

    The Best of Two Worlds!

    Everyone knew when we all heard of this ball in the making, it was going to be one of the biggest releases in Motiv History! The Primal Core, and Venom Shock Cover! Well, if you were told to get it, and you still haven't gotten it, Just What Are You Waiting For????
    Anyone who loves the motion of the Venom Shock, but needs it for heavier oil, this is it!
    I am able to start out with this ball, and use the same line as I would in Mid game 2, with my Venom Shock, and, when the transition comes, not have to move a board! This is the ball that is the perfect 1, of the 1,2, punch with the Venom Shock! In Lefty Land(where I am) I don't play the basic 10 board option most lefties use. I get far more shape than just a 10 board shot. Yes, I can definitely take my hand out of the ball and throw the traditional lefty shot, but, the shape this ball creates, why not get more angle out of it? Step out of the box, and use what you have! Out of the box finish has a bit of a bite to it, so I have put a bit of polish to mine, and it goes just a bit further in length which is perfect!
    If you were hoping for a ball that fits in your bag between the Jackal Ghost and Venom Shock? This is that ball! Honestly, the Primal Shock, and Venom Shock is the perfect match up for any THS you can literally bring a 2 ball bag to league and post honor scores!
    Hope this helps, don't sleep on this ball, It Definitely is one of the releases you Must Have this year!!!!

    The missing link

    This ball with a 3000 surface is money! This is the perfect ball to complement the Venom Shock. When I need something a little stronger than the Shock, I move left and pull out this monster. I have no problem carrying 10 pins when switching to this ball.
