MOTIV® has produced some of the greatest solid reactive bowling balls in the world. They create aggressive traction in oil yet retain energy for explosive continuation down lane, and that’s not easy to do.  Those impressive characteristics have been refined and tuned for medium oil to deliver the solid Ripcord™ Flight.  

Continuing with the dual-density Oblivion™ core to provide length and create angle, the Sky Blue Ripcord™ Flight features Turmoil™ Max Solid Reactive cover stock.  This modified version of the cover used on the Venom Shock handles slightly more oil volume and is tuned with a 3000 Grit LSS factory finish.

    Ripcord Flight

    As soon as I heard this ball was being released, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. The Flight is an amazing benchmark ball that provides great mid lane read and strong continuation down lane into the pins. In comparison to the Venom Shock, the Flight is a little earlier and creates a more round shape. Not only does it provide me with lots of strikes, it also looks amazing going down the lane. I believe this ball will have a place in my bag for a long time to come! Head over to your local pro shop and take flight today!

    Benchmark at its finest

    As much as i enjoy my venom shock, it can be a little weak on some nights as 1st ball out of the bag. Sometimes my Forge Fire is just to much on the same shot, so I was left with a gap. That was until the ripcord flight came out. Now I can handle just about any THS shot on the fresh.The flight is the ideal benchmark reaction for most houses I bowl in. I shot 700 the 1st 2 nights with the Ripcord Flight in 2 centers with much different patterns. I can't say enough good things about this ball, it will definitely make the trip to reno(Maybe)! I admire this ball so much that I have drilled a 2nd already with a slightly different layout.

    The new Ripcord Flight has the dual-density Oblivion core to provide length and create angle and also features the Turmoil Max Solid Reactive cover stock. This is a modified version of the cover used on the Venom Shock which has been a staple for the Motiv brand.

    I drilled my Ripcord Flight identical to my Venom Shock and then put the cover at 2000 (comes at 3000) with a little bit of polish. The ball is very clean through the front part of the lane with a bit of pickup in the mid-lane and a strong continuous reaction down-lane creating a shape that I like to see. Overall I can see this new Ripcord Flight being a staple like the Venom Shock has been for years, with its strong continuous cover and controllable reaction this is a perfect benchmark ball for everyone.

    Review:

    The Ripcord Flight is the newest bowling ball in the MOTIV product line. The Flight brings together to classics from the past in the MOTIV line to bring this bad boy to life. The Ripcord Flight features the Turmoil Solid Reactive Cover Stock, which was found on everyone’s favorite MOTIV bowling ball, the Venom Shock, and we paired it with the dual-density Oblivion core and of course the eye turning sky blue looks makes Ripcord flight an aggressive reaction on the lane and excellent continuation through the pins that will compliment the Venom Shock when you get to more heavier oil conditions like push down lane.

    Finally, we have something that complements the Venom Shock. While the Venom Shock is by far one of the greatest bowling balls I’ve ever thrown, when I get to heavier volume or when I get push down lane, it would not finish as hard as I want to. With the Ripcord Flight, I don’t have to worry about that anymore and then some. I love that I can play any part of the lane as strike because it gut reads the lane perfectly. Even when I feel I didn’t throw it well, it can still find the pocket. Plus it’s nice to pull this piece out of the bag instead on are bigger line and not worry if I can get to the pocket on heavier volume. Now I haven’t gotten much time to throw this piece with what’s going on in the world today so I can’t want to get back on the lanes and have more time with this piece. Everyone stay safe and we will get through this together.

    Rip Cord Flight

    I had the chance to throw the Rip Cord Flight and I must say this ball is really good. The Rip Cord Flight is earlier and stronger than the original Rip Cord. The Flight gives a smooth overall motion where the original Rip Cord is longer and more angular. I would start with the Flight on the fresh and transition into the original Rip Cord lanter on in the set. The Flight and the Venom Shock shape very similar but the Flight will handle more oil than the Shock will. You're able to use it up the lane as well as play the inside part of the lane with it. Another great release from Motiv!!!
