Ripcord Velocity

It’s all about angle! From core to cover, the Ripcord™ Velocity is built to fly fast and corner hard.

The dual-density Oblivion™ core is a complex work of engineering unlike anything else in the world.  It features a massive flip-block to make the Ripcord™ Velocity come off the oil pattern as violently as possible.  And with a high RG and moderate differential the Oblivion™ core is dialed in for versatility on medium oil conditions.  “We’ve had this core for a few years now and I feel like we are still learning tricks that we can do with it,” said MOTIV® Tour Rep Nick Pahr.

To take full advantage of the dynamic characteristics of the Oblivion core, MOTIV® is featuring new Infusion™ MVP Reactive cover stock on the Ripcord Velocity.  Evolving from the technology used on the Fatal Venom, Infusion MVP produces easy length and an unbelievable change of direction down lane. “This new cover technology is allowing us to shape the ball and create angles that we haven’t seen before”, said Brett Spangler of MOTIV.  Tuned with a 5500 Grit LSP finish, the Ripcord Velocity has speed to spare.

When To Use:

  • Speed Dominant: Speed dominant players will use the Velocity as their burn ball.  What the Velocity offers is more angle down lane than anything else available.  For speed dominant players, that is the last crucial piece in the progression, a ball that can make the corner when they have to use angle.
  • Balanced: When balanced bowlers need help through the front and angle through the pins, the Ripcord Velocity is the best option.  For balanced bowlers on higher friction surfaces where the front of the lane is an issue, this Ripcord will have no problem giving the length needed with a surprising pop down lane.
  • Rev Dominant: For players who have rev rate to spare, the Ripcord Velocity is like cheating.  The incredible angles this ball can create for a rev dominant player are something nobody else on the lane will be able to mimic.  When getting steep is key, rev dominant players will have an unfair advantage with the Ripcord Velocity.

    RIPCORD all day

The Ripcord Velocity has been what I have been looking for since the original Ripcord(purple). This ball gets through the front of the lanes so well without me having to try to push it to back of the pattern. I drilled mine 60 x 4 1/2 x 25. The low val angles lets the ball read the end of the pattern quicker for me and allows the ball to continue its attack to the pocket. The color of this ball I love with it being my high schools colors. I love using this ball as a good #2 ball when the lanes start to transition because this ball helps get through the transition so easy for me and allows me to start opening my angles quicker than most people during tournament play. The next ball down after this ball is the Supra Enzo. The Ripcord Velocity and Supra Enzo are so good together. You shouldn't leave home without both of these.

    Ripcord Rebirth

I was very excited to see the new Ripcord Velocity come out this year as I have always been a fan of the Ripcord line. The Velocity is simply better than what I expected. This new Velocity has enough shine to get through the front part of the lane without giving up any grit to turn the corner down lane. I drilled my Velocity exactly like my Supra Enzo and when you throw the Venom Shock in the middle of those two balls you simply can't go wrong. Velocity allows me to play in the oil long enough to where I can ball down to a Shock, Enzo, or even the original Supra. The continuation of this ball through the pins is still a staple for the Motiv brand as it simply doesn't quit.

    Ripcord Velocity

The Ripcord Velocity is definitely something special. It’s one of the stronger symmetric pearls I’ve thrown. This year my favorite ball is probably been the Jackal Legacy, and I find that the Velocity is a nice step down if I want to stay in the same part of the lane and get the ball just a bit further. Also, a great ball for higher friction houses!

The Ripcord Velocity is a go-to ball for me when bowling on your typical house patterns. This piece gets down the lane for me, but doesn’t waver when getting around the corner. It fits perfectly in front of my Supra Enzo, and behind something like a Trident Horizon.

    Ripcord Velocity!!

Being left handed, I've always been a fan of pearl covers when I need to get right and create angle at tournaments, and the new Velocity is the perfect ball to do just that. I can open my angles up with ease and get the ball through the front part of the lane without sacrificing any down lane motion.

I also see myself using this ball a lot on surfaces with higher friction, or later on league nights when there have been a couple of games bowled. This ball definitely fills a huge hole in my bag and I'm looking forward to drilling up more in the future!
