View Privacy PolicyDrilled this ball up the other day and am very impressed. I've been subbing in a couple houses with a little more volume than my main house where I primarily throw a Venom Shock Pearl. Drilled the Rouge 40x3.5x60 and it gave me an area to play all to myself. I simply cannot miss to the right with this ball. I have a beautiful angular motion to the pocket with a great follow through. I liked this core in the Forza SS, but I like it even better with this cover on it. Completely different ball with a much sharper reaction. Motiv did their homework on this one!

Review:
If you liked the Sigma Sting you will love the Rogue Blade. The new enhanced Hexion cover provides a similar look to the Sting only stronger to overcome today’s lane oils. The Rogue uses the trusted Sigma core which is very versatile. Combined with the new cover, the Rogue reads the mid lane very well and makes a very good move on the back end. It seemed to me the early Hexion covers went a bit long for me, so I needed a break in period on the those covers or I had to hit them with a 2000 pad. There was no need to adjust the surface on the Rogue. I actually tried it with a bit of polish and I gained more backend with very little loss in length. The Blade seems to be a very forgiving ball on less than good shots also. The Rogue has been very good on our slightly than wetter house shot and the carry is excellent. As I find with most of Motiv bowling balls this one hooks a bit more than expected. It comes at a 4000 finish so if you find you need more hook or less hook the surface is easily adjusted.
Pro shops should not have a problem selling this ball. We have sold some on shelf appeal alone. The payoff is when the bowler sees the performance they are twice as happy! I think the Rogue Blade will be a great fit in any arsenal for medium conditions.
Summary:
The Blade gives a nice mid lane read with strong back end.
This ball is a great fit on medium to oily patterns.
The Rogue Blade builds on the greatness of the Sigma Core.
The Blade has nice shelf appeal

The Sigma core is back in mighty fashion in the Rogue Blade. By wrapping this 2.47RG, .047Diff motor in the brand-new Hexion SE coverstock (4000LSS) we get the dependable motion we have come to expect with some explosive pop to finish. The intent of this ball is to fit into the medium oil range; I have found it to do that plus have the ability to create traction in medium to heavy volume. While the midlane read is consistent with every other Sigma ball I have thrown (which I believe to be the best in the game), the new cover system provides unprecedented backend movement and continuation. The moment the Rogue Blade finds the dry it makes a pronounced move towards the pocket with no hesitation; this quickness can create more advantageous angles than something a little more sluggish at the spot. I drilled mine to give me a little extra push down the lane as the typical house shots I see are in the medium range. Even with this longer pin I can easily throw this ball from start to finish. The cover is stronger than anything else MOTIV has put in this reaction category yet there is no sacrifice of energy retention with larger angles. I have been able to play anywhere from straighter and outside of ten board to looping it through fourth arrow. Versatility is key in any benchmark ball, and the Rogue Blade fits that mold wonderfully. So long as you are not trying to throw this in some soup, or on a desert, you will find this ball can just about do it all.

Introducing the all new Motiv Rogue Blade! This ball has one of my favorite cores ever produced from any company! The Sigma Core! What got me hooked on this core was the SR2 from Motiv about 8 or 9 years ago! That ball instantly became a favorite of mine and now Motiv has truly outdone themselves by slapping the Hexion SE coverstock! This coverstock is very clean through the fronts but the SE (basically supercharged from the original Hexion cover) provides better traction through the oil while still having a superfast response to friction downlane.
The Rogue Blade is extremely versatile. Even with it being so clean in thr fronts, the sigma core still allows the ball to read the mids very nice.
The Rogue Blade for me is a great ball to switch to once my Venom Shock becomes a little too early and I need to switch to something cleaner through the fronts.
The layout I chose for it was a 30x5x30. We chose a stronger layout because of my fast ball speed. My speed is generally between 17.5-18.5 and this layout allows me to stay in my comfort zone and not have to worry about throwing my ball past the breakpoint.
However I feel that you could prpobably put any layout on this ball and it would still strike regardless. This ball is just THAT GOOD!

This ball is the newest introduction into the MOTIV line of bowling balls. The MOTIV Rogue Blade features the combination of the new Hexion SE (Strength Enhanced) cover stock combined with the proven Sigma core which has been a favorite amongst competitive and casual bowlers for years due to its versatility and incredible power. This masterfully combines outstanding control in the mid-lane with a powerful response down lane. Most importantly, it features the continuation through the pins that MOTIV balls are becoming known for.
It will be a great fit in your bag on medium oil. With the merging of a moderate differential with a low RG, it provides the Rogue Blade with easy revs and outstanding control in the mid-lane. The Rogue Blade will become that ball you can count on when you need to control of the mid-lane, but are still looking for a strong backend reaction.
My Rogue Blade is laid out pin down (below my ring finger), the cg shifted to the right (no extra hole). This ball has already found a place in my bag and drives through the pins with easy from any angle. If you are looking for a ball to control the mid-lane without sacrificing backend reaction, has continuation and awesome hitting power. Look no further, you've found it.
