View Privacy PolicyAs a fairly new Motiv Staff member I did not have the pleasure of using a ball with a Sigma core. My first experience with this ball was at the demo day in York, PA. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. Even with some other great choices available. This ball has a great combination of skid, hook, roll. Not overly snappy but not to early. This would be a great ball to be the first one out of the bag. As the shot broke down I was able to make small moves to the left and stay ahead of the transition. I was even happier to see my order for one on the porch when I got home from vacation. Motiv is obviously listening to it's cutomers and delivering balls that fit. If your looking for that middle of road to high end hit this is the one. Thanks for reading.

The Rogue Blade gives me the ball I have been dreaming of since we brought back the Sigma Core with the Forza SS.
This ball combines that Low RG with our new Hexion Cover to give me control of the middle part of the lane with some angularity down lane.
This ball has proven for me that it can be good with any surface on it. Polished, this ball clears the fronts and gets going sideways down lane. While with some surface this ball allows me to really control the middles and throw it in some oil.
This ball is the first ball out of my bag and complements the villain perfectly with being a step down while being a step up from the Hydra.

Motiv continues to bring you bowling balls that are so clean thru the heads and it stores so much energy that carrying from any part of the lanes will be no problem. i can see this ball being great on a THS as well sport shots that require you to play the middle of the lanes

Review:
The Rogue Blade is the latest release from MOTIV Bowling. The Rouge Blade brings MOTIV’s most popular cores and a new cover stock together that makes the Rouge Blade one of the strongest, angular pieces in the medium category. With the proven Sigma Core and pair is with the new Hexion SE cover stock, the Rouge Blade provides easy revs with excellent control in the mid lanes with a stronger response down lane and continuation through the pins just as strong as any of the MOTIV releases. If you loved the original Sigma’s then the Rouge Blade is the bowling ball for you.
Weight Block Sigma
Cover Stock Hexion SE
Finish 4000 Grit LSS
Comments:
All I really have to say is this is the Sigma Tour on steroids. Your welcome. All kidding aside though the Rouge Blade is just an absolute joy to throw. A medium oil bowling ball shouldn’t hook this much but it does and its very controllable as well which makes it an absolute winner from MOTIV. And to me, the Rogue Blade is the Sigma Tour on steroids because it’s everything the Sigma Tour was, versatile, easy revs in the mid lane, long and angular down lane, and continuation as good as any. But what makes it on steroids is it just flats out hooks. Higher rev players will love the Rouge Blade because it’s something we can throw on longer, heavier patterns as well as on league patterns on fresh. Medium to lower rev players will love the Rogue Blade because is something there always looking for in hook potential without breaking there wallet.
Likes: Versatility; strong, angular motion down lane; continuation through the pins at its finest.
Dislikes: None
I recommend the piece to all types of bowlers.

Let me start by saying the Rogue Blade is one of the most versatile balls I’ve ever thrown. Since punching it out, it has been the first ball out of my bag and in most cases the only ball I need. I have mine drilled pin under ring with the cg kicked out about 45 degrees and no weight hole.
Review:
After using the Rogue Blade at a few houses, I found it can be played on just about any condition with a little surface prep. Out of box gives you a nice mid lane read and strong roll in the back. I wouldn’t say it’s a skid/flip ball, but on a house shot it’ll definitely come back on shots that you send out. When the lanes broke down, I was able to switch to the Venom Shock and stay in my comfort zone. During a tournament on a heavier oil pattern, I decided to hit it with a 1000 pad. The Blade picked up earlier but still maintained that predictable roll and drive in the backend. This ball gave me more miss room than anything else in my bag.
Summary:
This is the benchmark ball I’ve been looking for. It covers many conditions and works great with surface changes. I personally like the Blade around 1500-2000. I never had a chance to throw a Sigma, but I’m glad I can make it up with the Rogue Blade. It makes a perfect pairing with the Venom Shock when I need a little more pop.
