Since, it appears it has worn out. After 20 games it doesn't behave any more. Very poor down lane reaction where it used to perform so well. Does this cover wear out after 20 games with a low rev bowler? I'm moving back to the Shock.
Wow... This is a STRONG backend reaction so if you are looking for that nice even shape down the lane and not that sharp backend angle, this is not the ball for you. The pearl cover lets this ball get down lane without reading much at all in the oil but once it catches the dry, hold on to something. This ball turns... HARD. I had this ball drilled and threw it for the first time at league this week. I was able to start by bowling straight up the 5 and by the end of the first game I was bowling right of 5 and playing on the 1 and 2. I held out as long as I could but playing that close to the gutter is way to stressful and I finally went to my next ball and line. This ball hits the pins with power and looks fantastic (tons of compliments on the looks). If you are looking for a ball that reads late and is angular, this is it. Great job with this ball Motiv! 6 ball arsenal = Mythic Jackal, Sky Raptor, Trident Odyssey, Pride, Venom Shock, Fatal Venom

This is the strongest pearl symmetric ball I have ever thrown. I drilled mine fairly strong 50-4 7/8 -34 which allowed it to pick up in the mid lane with a continuous motion. With a longer pin to PAP I could see this having more of a skid flip motion. When compared to the Mythic Jackal the Sky Raptor was smoother off the friction with a strong roll to the pocket. This is the first polished Motiv ball I did not have to touch the surface on because its that strong. Once again, another step forward for Motiv pearl balls.

PAP 4.5 x 0, Layout 60 x 5 x 40, 275 RPM, 15 MPH, Tweener
Pleasantly surprised at the overall shape of the new Sky Raptor. The Dynamic Infusion Pearl Reactive cover gets this down the lane and helps create the big backend, even for those of us with ball speed not what it used to be. This is a great compliment with the Trident Odyssey on oilier house shots, allowing me to start a little further inside on the fresh and chase the oil line in as transition opens up the pattern even more. I'm also able to use different releases to tweak the roll to carry the corners. The Sky Raptor keeps the pocket big allowing great carry for lighter and heavier hits, a welcome trait with the larger hook balls.

I was really happy when I found out the Raptor line was coming back. I was even happier when I saw that it’s and updated version of the core in the VIP Affliction. This ball fits exactly where I thought it would. Right after that VIP, and something I can use to create angle, before I get into a weaker core in the Shock, or an even cleaner cover in the pride empire. Personally I like to see shiny pearls that don’t come off the friction too quick. I find them more usable from straighter angles, as well as opening up the lane, and that is exactly what is appealing to me about this ball. I’m really looking forward to getting this onto some flatter patterns in tournaments to really see what I can do with this ball.
