Box Finish: Dynamic Infusion™ Pearl Reactive

Layout: 80 x 2 ¼ x 30
Strengths
Sky Raptor provides a similar shape in terms of hook compared to Mythic Jackal, the difference being is the shape is symmetrical.
The continuous ball motion of Sky Raptor will prove useful on heavier patterns, I consider this ball motion more useful to that of skid flip on heavier patterns.
Length wise Sky Raptor is similar to Mythic Jackal but earlier to that of Iron Forge, DIV Infusion creates a lot of traction for a pearl coverstock which I found versatile for cover adjustments.
Weaknesses
I wasn’t too successful using Sky Raptor on extreme conditions where I would be using my Top Thrill.
Overall Summary
The combination of Dynamic Infusion and Affiliation core offers you traction and continuation, even on questionable shots off my hand the traction afforded me room for error playing the heavy end of the pattern.
In terms of shine options Sky Raptor is an earlier and stronger option compared to Mythic Jackal, Pride Empire and Iron Forge, not only is the traction visible in the oil Sky Raptor doesn’t violently ricochet existing the pattern.
Take your game sky diving with Sky Raptor.
Your game will thank you for it.

The sky is the limit with the first Affliction-led Raptor to hit the MOTIV ball chart as a standard US release. The Sky Raptor introduces the first modification of the reliable Affliction core, Affliction V2 (2.48 RG, .055 Diff), for stronger revving action in oil. To pair with the new core is the new Dynamic Infusion pearl coverstock (5000 LSS), a technology built to get through the heads while responding to fiction quickly. This pairing creates a good relationship for when you need a ball to read the midlane on fresher medium-heavy conditions that still has backend pop.
I put the 4” pin on my Sky Raptor as I already have a 5” pin on my Mythic Jackal and wanted a stronger differentiation than just asymmetric vs. symmetric, and I got just that. While they are similar in overall hooking potential, these two balls provide vastly different reactions, giving me options for attacking the lanes. Whereas the Jackal is good at opening up the lane by pushing through the heads and revving hard on the backend, the Raptor likes to stay squarer by reading the mids a bit more, getting into a heavier roll thanks to the core and stronger pin placement. On the fresh house shot for my league, the Raptor provides a great control piece to eliminate the over/under jumpiness that can occur. I see an easy glide through the heads, a good midlane roll to provide predictability, and a quick reaction to the downlane friction without being ‘flippy’ and uncontrollable. This downlane response helps to blend out the pattern significantly while still providing a good entry angle into the pocket for better carrying opportunities. This piece provides so much predictability and consistency that it took less than 10 games out of the box for me to shoot 300 with it.
Overall, I would say the strength of the Sky Raptor is in its ability to blend the lane, meaning that straighter angles are your friend. Once the lanes get to a point where you need to increasingly open up the lanes, it is an easy transition down to an Iron Forge or Pride Empire. The benchmark medium-heavy reaction provided by this ball is something that should be strongly considered for anyone’s arsenal.

I purchased this ball after a test drive and had it laid out and drilled to close to the tester layout used at test drive. The ball is nice and smooth and drives hard through the pins. I do not know what my rev rate is or anything like that but I typically stand left foot on 30 or 35, throw it out to around the 10-15 board for it to break into the 1-2 pocket. My average first ball speed is is between 14.5 - 16 mph. I fell in love with the line when I got the Raptor Talon from my stepdad and I have been in love with the Motiv brand ever since.

I preordered this ball from BowlerX and had them punch it for me
Layout: XX X 41/2 X 30 (as it is symmetrical first angel didn’t matter, call it 80)
Right-Handed
Stroker (if I had to pick a style)
Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF)
Here is what I saw the new “Dynamic Infusion Pearl Reactive” cover-stock gave me length that I have needed for the conditions I have been bowling on. The move off the spot is pronounced and sharp and the Affliction V2 Core makes the ball drive right off the back of the deck once the turn is made. This ball is a Bird of Prey that glides high above its hunting grounds (lanes) and when it sees its target (1-3 pocket) sharp dive resulting in XXX.
I knew I had no reason to purchase this ball given the amount of bowling I do, 1 house 3 leagues, on a low volume THS with a high friction surface. First time I threw the ball was 10/19/22 three practice shots before league began during the 10 minutes of practice 1st game clean 257. Ball now has six games on it and I’m +164 (two games of 250 or better). Now for some of the guys here that’s pedestrian, but I’m in my 50s and my game has been struggling of late.
Here is what I saw the new “Dynamic Infusion Pearl Reactive” cover-stock gave me length that I have needed for the conditions I have been bowling on. My normal line up is Venom Shock (game 1), Blue Coral Venom (game 2), and Fatal Venom (game 3) and if they are really dry, I go with the Desert Tank (nothing hits like a tank). Last two sets Sky Raptor every game and when I moved left instead of balling down, I left makeable spares on the right side due to the ball crossing over.
I am reminded of the days when new balls came with a drill guide sheet in the box and showed the owner how to layout a ball to create the shape of a shot. Hockey stick comes to mind for me and the motion I see with this ball, however, this is not a down and in ball. This ball is a Bird of Prey that glides high above its hunting grounds (lanes) and when it sees its target (1-3 pocket) sharp dive resulting in XXX.
Looking forward to spending some time working with this ball to see how much versatility it will give me. After 6 games I have already told my wife to order me another one for Christmas to put in the closet to save for a rainy day. Today I’m on my way to NC to a new pro shop to preorder the Carbide Tank (to add to my normal arsenal of Venoms), pick up another Jackal Ghost, and the Forge Ember as the Iron Forge has been my favorite ball for a long time. Unfortunately for all of those balls they may see more bench time because the Sky Raptor is the current Apex Predator on the lanes for me.

I had to do a double take the few shots I threw with this ball, I couldn't begin to believe at first the down lane motion I was seeing with this ball. It was perfection and beyond.
Bowling League last week with it, I posted scores of 729 and 790 with a 300 Game. The deeper I would move with it, the harder it would snap off the spot, At no point in either league session did it quit. Not only was it shaping it off the spot and getting back to the pocket from seemingly any angle, it was doing so and striking. Getting there is 1 thing, Knocking all 10 pins down is another. I for sure would recommend this ball to any of my friends and fellow bowlers in need of a new toy.
