View Privacy PolicyI was browsing around, and I was looking something similar to the GT1 which is my favorite ball 15 years later kept it and clean it was awesome , and I thought about the Tank line, this is close and have a really nice back end and hits the pins hard!

When in need of a piece to help tame the over-under cliffs of the massive puddle in the middle with seemingly nothing outside of 12, this right here is the ball for you. Get some games on it, let it build up some "lane shine" for lack of a better term and watch this ball tame the cliff and build you a bump to move in and play off of as the night progresses with your stronger pieces. Hands Down, this has become my Warmup and Game 1 Ball for League.

I've always had good success with the previous Microcell Polymer balls, but never really got that true urethane shape I was looking for.
The Yellowjacket changes that. It reminds me of the Tank Rampage, which was by far my favorite Motiv true urethane.
I am glad to see that same shape and power from the Yellowjacket. It fills a very much needed spot in the tournament arsenal.
Highly recommend grabbing one before they are gone. I also recommend, if you are not a high-speed player, take yours to a 2k or 4k finish to get that ideal shape on the lanes.

I'm a down-and-in bowler, definitely a "stroker." Like most league bowlers, I experience a low-volume THS. I was have trouble finding for myself a first-out-of bag ball that had sufficient length plus a reliable backend. Yellowjacket was recommended to me. At first use, with the 1000-grit box finish, the ball started to move as soon as it saw the lane. I resanded to 1500/2000/3000/4000-grits, and then applied polish as well. The result was shockingly good for me! I can open now on a down and in line, over the 7-board at the arrows, and typically can stay there for a game or so, and then move inside by about a board, and stay there for another game, and sometimes longer. Control has been marvelous; the ball is adding maybe 10 pins to my average. It also gradually yells at me that the lane is transitioning, such that I can make small moves, or ball down.

Core: Flux
Type: Symmetric
Coverstock: Frixion M5 Microcell Polymer
Box Finish: 1000 Grit LSS
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isCCoOrEKYY
Layout: 60 x 4¼ x 30
Strengths
Tank Yellow Jacket is the definition of control. Frixion M5 Microcell Polymer is a dull coverstock and Flux is a low-flaring core, the created shape provides you with a fluent ball motion.
Tank Yellowjacket picks up the moment it leaves your hand, paired with its fluent shape, it's rather ideal playing straighter angles. The early roll provides maximum control.
Weaknesses
I was not successful using Tank Yellowjacket on heavier patterns, it isn’t something I was use to oil chase with.
Overall Summary
I encourage you to look at Tank Yellowjacket if control is what you desire on drier patterns. In terms of using Yellowjacket on the fresh, it is a matter of chasing the friction, doing so as the lanes opened up I moved further right. As the friction increased, I became firmly aggressive in my release because of the ball motion of Yellowjacket, and I use it often to blend out over/under.
If you see a Yellowjacket in a tree, don’t pick it up.
If you see a Yellowjacket in your pro shop, please pick it up.
Your game will thank you for it.
