The Top Thrill line is developed for premium performance on dry lanes.  The latest additions to the MOTIV product line are the Top Thrill Solid and the Top Thrill Hybrid.  These two balls were developed for world class performance on dry lanes.  While others develop “entry level” bowling balls, we at MOTIV focus on premium performance for the varied environments a competitive bowler is likely to encounter.  With peak performance in mind, the new Top Thrill Solid and Top Thrill Hybrid are designed for specific needs expressed by bowlers.

The Halogen V2 core returns for these two Top Thrills as it is perfect for performance in light oil.  It combines a slow-spinning high RG core for easy length and a lower differential to provide 2-3 inches of track flare potential.  The moderately low differential allows for a clear progression within the MOTIV product line, stepping down from balls intended for medium-dry lanes. 

The Top Thrill Solid uses Turmoil XP2 Solid coverstock to provide easy length, yet also a smooth and continuous motion. Additionally, the finish of the Top Thrill Solid is set with performance in mind.  The 4000 Grit LSS finish allows for easy length, but without a violent down lane motion.  Control with resin on dry lanes is the purpose of the Top Thrill Solid.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - Speed dominant players will likely use the Top Thrill line when the lanes are very dry or on shorter oil patterns when urethane balls are not an option.  The Top Thrill Hybrid will be most useful when more down lane motion is needed, while the Top Thrill Solid is ideal on shorter patterns.
  • Balanced Bowlers - For balanced bowlers, dry lanes and at the end of long blocks of competition are ideal for the Top Thrill line.  Balanced bowlers competing on a second shift or in tournaments with longer formats will find great use for the Top Thrills.  Often, balanced bowlers find themselves lost after urethane has transitioned lanes.  In those cases, the Top Thrill Solid allows for straighter angles is a great solution.  When the patterns are longer and bowlers want to create more angle, the Top Thrill Hybrid should be used.
  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - For rev dominant bowlers, the Top Thrills are a must in the bag.  The Top Thrill solid is a great option for lower volume fresh patterns where straighter angles are in play and other balls are just too strong for the angles in play.  The Top Thrill Hybrid is an outstanding burn ball for rev dominant bowlers.  While the solid is better on light oil from shallow angles, at the end of the block, the Top Thrill Hybrid will be useful from steep angles.

    Perfect One-Two Punch

    If you are wanting a ball that is great in breaking down a short or medium oil pattern. The Top Thrill Solid is the ultimate house shot killer!!! Easy to control and easily affordable for everyone. Do not take its entry level as a joke. This ball is stronger than it looks. I went with a high flare layout and was not disappointed in any way. This ball may be the best “entry level” I have ever owned in a while.

    Feel the BURN!

    Top Thrill Solid has that multipurpose reaction for any condition but even more for the med/light patterns.
    Thrill Solid is for the control shape for when the lanes break down and you need the ball to smooth out the carry-down and just enough to hold pocket and still hit. Tournament play in those late games when the lanes flush out and the pearls are just not enough w/ over and under, the Thrill solid blends out the pattern w/ predictability and and still hits. Great for that upgrade to your first performance ball and for the seasoned player a key tool for the breakdown.

    Entry level ball? I don't think so.

    I have the Pearl Top Thrill and the Solid Thrill is a great compliment to it. I'm a lefty, so with not being that much traffic in the left side the lanes don't transition nearly as fast. The backend stay sharper longer. The Thrill series is perfect for combating that. The Thrill Solid gives me that earlier read than the Pearl, but the down lane motion is controlled because of the smaller core. The Solid and the Pearl are a great 1 2 punch. My first outing with the Top Thrill Solid was at a tournament on the end pair, it was a 6 game block and I shot a 662 the first three games. I transitioned to the Thrill Pearl by game 5 and I was able to stay in the same area with that added length from the cover and had a very good series. Don't let ball being at the bottom of the ball chart fool you. Any ball in the Thrill series is a must have, especially the Thrill Solid.

    Introducing the strongest entry level balls on the market. To get any stronger would no longer be entry level. The Solid Thrill is my pick for ball of the year. This is a ball that will compliment any style of bowler on a wide variety of lane and oil conditions. The shell is early enough that it sees the mid lane to give you a smooth and predictable motion to the pocket. It hits like no other entry level piece. If you're looking for that first ball out of the bag to give you control and a read on what the pattern is giving you, then this is the ball for you. It is def in my first 3 ball bag everywhere I go.

    The new Top Thrill Solid is another entry level bowling ball built for performance on shorter oil patterns. The Top Thrill Solid provides an even smoother overall motion than the Top Thrill Hybrid. With the Top Thrill Solid, I can open the lanes up a little more than the Hybrid. The Solid is very predictable and when the lanes start to transition, I can make smaller adjustments instead of larger adjustments like I have to do with other bowling balls in the lineup. Another House Shot and shorter oil pattern tournament destroyer.
