View Privacy PolicyThe Trident Odyssey was a pleasant surprise to have as a release. Going back to the lower RG and overall higher Diff Turbulent core was a fantastic choice. It creates a separate shape from the Trident Horizon while being a great complement to it as well as the Ghost. For me, at 60x5.5x30, I felt that my Ghost was a little earlier, rounder, and more hook overall than the Odyssey, while the Horizon with the much higher RG and much lower Diff than the Ghost or the Odyssey, would lope down the lane and accelerate much harder off of friction. I personally did not throw the Horizon much as my Rev rate and ball roll match more with the lower RG pieces in the line and I do not need the extra shape that the Horizon provides. Overall, the Odyssey was a fantastic addition to the line as it provides more asymmetric options without creating too much overlap amongst each piece in the line.

Had the New Trident Odyssey drilled up for me and tonight I was able to test it out at League. Mind you, it is a Typical House Pattern and I am a pretty even bowler. 16-17mph 400 revs.
The Odyssey went through the fronts very easy, the Versatility of this ball is amazing! However, throwing it too far outside, its like someone just kicks it Right (I'm a Lefty), and it crosses over! Keeping it more in the oil, the ball handled phenomenal! This is my new "First ball on the Fresh" Most say this ball belongs between the Jackal Legacy, and the Jackal Ghost.... I disagree. This is almost a replacement for the Ghost. Its like what the Pride is to the Shock! This ball Will be in my Tournament bag, as well as my League bag! If you are looking for that ball for Heavy Oil, that is Versatile. This is the one you need!

I am fairly new to the Motiv brand since I wanted to try something new and got the Jackal Ghost in October of 2020. Now in January of 2022, I have a similar shape but better (if there is such a thing.) this past Saturday I had a set of 258-236-297 for a 791 series all three games with this fantastic piece. I hope to see the Turbulent Core to make a return again.

What to say about the all new Trident Odyssey.
Very seldom is a ball an instant favorite. The all new Trident Odyssey is definitely one of the favorites!
I drilled mine 70X4.5X25. I find this ball to be extremely unique and a great comparison to the Alpha Jackal.
First off, for an Asymmetrical it is relatively clean. The Turbulent core allows the ball to greatly rev up in the front part of the lane while the Coercion™ FYS Solid Reactive cover allows the ball to store its energy and have plenty of downlane reaction without the ball “burning” up in the front part of the lane. I compared this ball to the Alpha Jackal as they both have the same coverstock but different cores. The Alpha jackal for myself a lefty with a 375-400 rev rate, Pap is 3 7/8, 7/8 up, the Alpha would be over under at times. The Odyssey has taken away that and been a huge staple in my arsenal. I highly recommend this ball to any style bowler. Left handed or right handed the Odyssey will not disappoint!

I am happy to see the return of the Turbulent core used in the original Trident along with a strong cover which gives the ball smooth but powerful finish off the pin deck. As I threw it in league the corners would jump off it seems before the ball got there in fear. When the ball hit the pocket the sound of the strike had people asking me about the Trident Odyssey. You really should get one it's a great bowling ball. Always Motivated ❌ ❌ ❌
