Venom Shock Pearl

4.9Read Reviews

Finally, the Venom Shock Pearl (VSP) has arrived! Featuring our new Hexion cover and a dual density weight block, the VSP is the perfect complement to the original solid edition, which is one of the most popular MOTIV balls ever because it is so versatile on light to medium oil.

The Top Gear™ weight block gives the Venom Shock Pearl a low RG and low differential similar to the original solid ball, yet its dual density structure provides a more angular backend motion.

To provide easy length and a fast response to friction, a new Hexion MFP (Medium Friction Pearl) Reactive cover is utilized on the VSP.  At the factory, the Purple Pearl cover stock is tuned with a 5500 Grit LSP finish to boost the performance attributes of MOTIV’s Hexion technology.

Rev dominant bowlers will be pleased to find great length and angle from the Venom Shock Pearl.  Similarly, bowlers currently using the solid edition will now have an outstanding complementary ball for that third game when the oil pattern is broken down.

    Strike Without Warning!

    Layout:
    65 x 5 x 35

The Venom line is back in a bold new way with the Venom Shock Pearl. The combination of the Top Gear core (2.47RG, .035Diff) from the Cobra with the brand new Hexion MFP coverstock (5500LSP) captures the essence of the original Shock while providing a different motion; this has created a strong 1-2 punch. The VSP has been designed to skid further down the lane while providing more recovery than its original namesake so that it can be used later in the day once the OG Shock starts to hook too early. I drilled mine the same way as my longest tenured Shock (and most successful!) and also hit it with a light 3000 pad to get it to the same finish to give a true comparison. While these two reacted with the pins the same (keeping them low and on the deck for better carry), their reactions are vastly different. This iteration of the Hexion cover continues to impress with its reaction time to friction while the core keeps the ball in control. The VSP goes several feet further down the lane and responds to the friction significantly quicker. This motion allows me to get further left on the lane and still get the corners out where the OG Shock would start to burn a little early. Taking the polish off of the box finish has allowed me to use this ball on the fresh without sacrificing control. With the polish back on I get a ball that can continue going left so that I may keep that reliable Venom reaction in my hand even longer. If the Venom Shock is a staple in your bag then the Venom Shock Pearl is a must-have enhancement to that arsenal.

    Great Ball

The VSP is very clean thru the heads with great back-end action. It will be an excellent ball on THS and short pattern sports shots, being a high rev medium speed bowler i was able to move in away from the other left handed bowlers and not lose carry. i highly recommend this ball

    Shockingly Good

The new Venom Shock Pearl compliments that Original Venom Shock perfectly! The proven Hexion cover was put on this ball while staying with the original gear core. This combination is awesome! I drilled mine 60 x 4.5 x 70 with a light 1000 abralon grit on the surface. Even with the 1000 surface, this ball is still very clean through the front part of the lane and I never had to deal with the ball grabbing too early as the lanes transitioned. Compared to the original venom shock, the pearl is much cleaner through the front part of the lane but still has that great continuation the Original Shock is known for. The best part of this ball is how low the pins stay when the ball enters the pocket. This feature maximizes carry and this ball certainly doesn't disappoint!

    Another SHOCKing ball!

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

Motiv brings you the Venom Shock Pearl (VSP)! The VSP has the advanced Venom Shock core wrapped around Motiv's proven Hexion cover stock. With the combination of these two variables, the VSP is clean, angular, but also very controllable. When the original Venom Shock is starting to become too soon and too smooth when players migrate left, the VSP is the perfect compliment and gives players the back end and continuation players are looking for when they have to migrate left (right being a left handed.)

I drilled two VSP, one pin up over the ring finger and one pin down below the ring finger. My pin up VSP allows me to really open up my angles and throw the ball to the right, giving me the confidence that it's going to come back. My pin down VSP allows me to have my angles closed more and play straight, which is my "A game."

Taking the shine off this ball really showed me how versatile this ball truly is. With the out of box finish, I can see myself using both pin Up and pin down way later in blocks when the lanes are very dry and the lane forces me deep inside. When I touched both VSP with surface, 2000 grit, they are a great option on medium conditions or even to start your league night on your typical house shot. Even with the surface, the VSP still has that great shape as the original Venom Shock, just more downlane motion.

This ball is truly a home run. Go get yours in February!
