WHEN TO USE: 

  • Speed Dominant - For a bowler with high ball speed or those with lower rev rates, the Jackal Ghost serves as an outstanding benchmark option due to the cleaner cover and controllable motion down lane.  The versatility of drilling offered by the Predator V2 also makes the Ghost a great benchmark piece for speed dominant bowlers. 
  • Balanced - Players who are balanced in their speed to rev rate ratio find the Ghost to be a must have for fresh oil and longer patterns.  The Jackal Ghost is ideal for balanced bowlers to use in a variety of lower friction environments.

    Potentially the BEST Motiv Bowling Ball EVER !!!

    Before I post the special accomplishment on the Jackal Ghost, I am posting my motiv arsenal stats for each bowling ball accomplished in six game format (excluding league and exhibition games) :

    All Motiv Bowling Balls (15 Total) :

    This Jackal Ghost is part of a new 4 ball arsenal added to a now Motiv Nation 21 ball arsenal !!

    First of all, this year's newest addition of bowling balls I chosen are - Mythic Jackal (55 x 6.00 x 50), Pride Empire (45 x 4.50 x 45) right off the bat....

    Second of all, since I already have various ranging Motiv bowling balls across the spectrum that I still use on occasion, I decided it was a good time to finally obtain the Venom Shock (35 x 4.00 x 25) and the Jackal Ghost since these two product lines have been distributed for such a long time with a lot of hype by many.....

    Third of all, you all are not going to believe what I already accomplished upon with this new Jackal Ghost !!! (later on that)

    It was recommended by the desk clerk (shout out to Ed) that I have this Jackal Ghost drilled weak with the (90 x 2.00 x 60) layout.....

    This is the third ball I have with this specific layout, as the pearl Trident Nemesis (lower RG) was the first ball and the Pearl Top Thrill (higher RG) was the second ball
    drilled this way, and since all my other Jackals are the [55 x (four to six inch pin) x 50-60] layouts - it was decided that I have an additional (90 x 2.00 x 60) for a solid cover low RG in the arsenal and chose to do so on the Jackal Ghost....

    Now on the Jackal Ghost - (90 x 2.00 x 60) :

    Since I deal with the pro shop (out of town) in Anchorage, I bowled 5 games on it in three different houses in that area with each of my four new bowling balls in rotation, and this Jackal Ghost already outperformed the 3 others by a distance as the pins really fly around with this weak layout as it NEVER left a weak ten and I am a notorious weak ten bowler too (low game 204 to 263 hi game break in)

    Hard to believe, upon my very first session at my home bowling center with this ball I bowled a 3 game series with each of my four new bowling balls while having thumb issues with the spare ball and hardly ever used it with the Jackal Ghost -

    Motiv Venom Shock - 600
    Motiv Jackal Ghost - 804 - [1404 six game]

    I just achieved my SECOND lifetime three game 800 series practically out of the box with this thing (already) and I honestly can say this Jackal Ghost is sick...,like REAL dope sick !!!!

    In comparison to the four bowling houses - it doesn't matter WHERE I line up or what angle it migrates after reading the ball to know what the lane is doing, once it hits pocket the pins just fly like I am throwing a 18mph delivery as the ball never loses energy thru the pindeck, while having that great midlane to back end shape and read, this Jackal Ghost is so smooth it's kinda unreal....

    Never gets flippy, maintains control and soooo versatile with this very weak layout upon my characteristics.

    First series at my home bowling center with this Jackal Ghost, I bowl this back to back 288, and 9th lifetime 300 - while managing to grind out a 216 final game after transitioning, changing my line/target again upon striking the last 7 of 8 shots for the 804 series (8 games out of the box - insane).

    Sorry for the long post, however I felt having to compare this incredible Jackal Ghost to all the other Motiv line of bowling balls I own as I believe in Motiv products and feel it made me a better bowler overall - Motiv helped accomplish my dream of achieving two 3 game 800+ series (at age 55 and 57) ...My first 800 series is posted under the Motiv Forge Fire ball review on 08/02/2020 if anyone cares to read up.

    For those who do not have a Jackal Ghost in their arsenal, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting this ball (10 stars, not 5) - find your favorite layout, have it punched and GET MOTIVATED - Motiv Nation for LIFE !!!!!

    One of the smoothest balls I have ever thrown. It works great for any recreational or sport pattern. It's easy to read the way it rolls and would be fantastic for beginners and experienced bowlers alike

    The Jackal Ghost is a must have

    I've had this ball for a while and should have done a review sooner. This ball is extremely versatile. I can play straighter and pick up the speed or open up the lane if I need to. There is a reason why it's in the hands of so many PBA MOTIV staffers. It's the perfect balance of length and power. If you don't have one, get one.

    MUST HAVE BALL FOR ANY MOTIV FAN

    I have been bowling since the late 90's. I took about a 15 year break from league bowling. But I am back and all in since Sept. I have drilled 10 balls this year. I have never had an arsenal until now. This is my Crown Jewel!! Wow what a ball. Up until this year my high game was 279 and only had one 700 series in my life. I have rolled TWO 300 games with this ball with in two months. The first one was the end of May on a house shot. The last one was this past Monday on a 47 foot flat sport pattern, I went 17 X's in a row. Another first for me to string that many, and I have had 8 or ten 700's this year.
    I also in Feb had a 298 with a Ripcord Flight. Also now is my bench mark. They make the perfect 1-2 punch for me. When the lanes start to get carry down my Ghost will start to get a little over under action. The two are so awesome for me because when that starts around middle of game two or so. I go to my Flight and I stand two boards right of my last ball with the Ghost and 90% of the time I start striking again first ball with it.

    The Ghost low RG core lets even a low rev player like myself get it spun up and it always drives through the pins. If it hits flat it is because I did not follow thru or did something dumb.
    I never am getting rid of this ball. If I had to guess it has close to 200 games on it or more. I have sanded & soaked it in hot water about 4 times now when I notice a small decline in performance and it always pops back as good as new afterwards. I can't say enough about it. I have a team mate that has one too. Neither one of us would ever remove it from our bag. If I can roll a 300 with this ball you can too.

    Enough blabbing from me. If you need a strong medium to heavy oil ball look no further this is the one. Worth every red cent!!!!
