View Privacy PolicyThe new Forge Flare by Motiv is by far the most aggressive ball I have ever thrown. I waited until I had around 50 games on the Flare before writing a review to make sure this ball didn’t begin to slow down any. The all new Coercion MXC cover has held up nicely with very little lane shine. The Flare digs early and often and still retains energy to be continuous through the pins. My Flare is drilled pin up and with my lower ball speed and lower rev rate, I’m still able to control this ball with ease. The yellow, red and black colors are certainly eye catching.

The new Forge Flare is what i would call a hook beast. This ball wants to eat thru the oil and smash the pocket. I would have to say this is the strongest ball have drilled to date.

Motiv has taken the Detonator core and wrapped in a new version of the Coercion cover stock known as MXC Solid reactive. This combination creates a very unique ball reaction, Super early up front with good continuation for how early this ball hooks. This one-of-a-kind ball does have its drawbacks, it needs OIL. Where this one shines is when moving left in oil and needing to create shape, unlike big asymmetrical balls that quit once a player needs to migrate left. The Forge Flare has by far the strongest cover I have ever thrown from any company! When a symmetrical heavy oil ball is needed this one will outshine the rest with its ability to shape down lane in oil, allowing a player to stay with it longer during league or in a tournament.

I had to give this one some time on the lanes before posting. This is by far the strongest ball I have ever thrown. Motiv has really come with something unique in the Coercion MXC cover. It reads the mid lane really early, has a smooth controlled shape and drives through the pins hard. The best part about this ball, for as strong as it is, I can continue to move left and the ball retains enough energy to drive through the 8 pin. This charcoal like surface is very slow to lane shine as well. The Forge Flare will fit a variety of different bowlers and is something you have to see to believe.

I've had the Forge Flare for a few weeks now and this is easily the earliest, biggest hooking symmetrical ball I have ever thrown. I have a tendency to throw the ball through the spot and find myself very tentative on longer oil patterns but with the new Coercion MXC cover on this ball, I have confidence that the ball will hook which allows me to be aggressive.
My Flare has about 20 games on it now and the cover has minimal lane shine and still continues to dig in the oil. This is my favorite release from Motiv in 2020!
