The Forge™ Flare brings the heat with solid reactive technology unlike anything ever seen before in the MOTIV® line!  Designed for use on medium-heavy oil conditions, it provides unparalleled traction in the front of the lane, without sacrificing down lane reaction. 

The ability of the Forge™ Flare to shape so easily in higher oil volumes is possible because of new Coercion™ MXC (MaXimum Continuation) Solid Reactive cover stock.  It is the strongest solid shell ever created by MOTIV®.  Most impressive is the continuation from such a strong cover.  

The Forge™ Flare partners this new cover technology with the symmetrical Detonator™ core, which is utilized to provide a low RG and high differential.  The result is a fast revving, strong, and continuous bowling ball with massive track flare potential.

When To Use:

  • Speed Dominant: Often, speed dominant bowlers are forced to use an asymmetric bowling ball to limit the skid phase as much as possible.  Sometimes, this means sacrificing continuation.  By combining this unbelievably strong cover with a symmetrical core, the bowler will be able to rely on the shell to slow the ball down without sacrificing continuation at all.
  • Balanced: This is the ball that a tweener dreams of.  A ball so strong that they are able to move left on high volume patterns and see shape instead of having their shim taken away by the higher rev players.  The Forge Flare opens a new portion of the lane for fresh oil and early transition in heavy oil for balanced bowlers.
  • Rev Dominant: Rev dominant players will find that they can shape a Forge Flare with ease in a way that no other solid cover ball has ever allowed them on heavy oil.

    The Forge Flare is the strongest ball I have ever had in my bag. I use this ball on oily conditions because of the down lane continuation especially how hard it digs. This ball is good for anyone who has high rev rates or low rev rates in my opinion. I bring this ball anywhere I go; tournaments, leagues, sportshots, etc.

    What oil?

    I have been bowling for 22 years and the Forge Flare is the strongest ball I have ever seen in my entire life. The original Forge was a good ball; the Forge Fire is a staple in my bag along with many other bowlers but the Forge Flare gives you a distinct advantage over anybody who doesn’t have one in their bag. The Detonator core is proven to be great but that core mixed with the Coercion™ MXC Solid Reactive literally created a monster no one has ever seen before. As a bowler on the lower rev rate of the scale, the Forge Flare allows me to play left of people who I am typically an arrow right of. This ball surprised me for 2 reasons, the first was obviously how much it hooked. The second was the fact that it still goes through the pins with how much it hooks. Typically a ball that hooks a lot, will sacrifice some carry but this ball just didn’t. If you want to hook the ball like you never have before or you want to be prepared for any long and heavy oil pattern, you NEED this ball in your bag.

    Forge Flare!!!

    This is easily the strongest symmetrical ball I have ever thrown. HANDS DOWN!!! This new cover wrapped around the Detonator core simply digs and digs and digs and doesn't stop. I can see this being used on very high volume patterns for the most part but the ball is so good out of the box that I think a little polish can make it usable on just about anything. If you don't match up well with Asymmetrical pieces then this is a must for you.

    This cover is huge.

    The easiest way for me to put this, is that no cover has any business being this strong...

    You know what that means, the ball should be awful any time there isn't a complete and total puddle, right? Actually no. I don't really know how to explain it, but this ball somehow manages to retain energy even when I really should be throwing something a lot weaker. I'm not saying it is remotely optimal, just that it runs circles around other strong balls when compared on stuff they really shouldn't be thrown on.

    Don't get me wrong, I can't throw this on absolutely on everything, but if you're building a bag on versatility, this is definitely going to be that big core symmetrical solid in your bag.

    This ball is so strong that i joined a league on the Route 66 pattern to be able to test it on longer and higher volume patterns, and I can tell you from personal experience, I consistently get 7 when I should have gotten 0. You know what I'm talking about right? The ball is 5 right at the arrows and you're ready to wave goodbye, but SOMEHOW THIS COVER HANGS ON??? Any other ball would be in the ditch and this one is somehow still chugging.

    Enough overly excited review though, here are some stats:

    Layout 5.25x35

    Surface: I hit it with 1000 by hand if it's not doing what it should be, but this ball laneshines really slow compared to everything else, so I don't have to do it often.


    Limitations:

    Lower volume long patterns (I just prefer weaker and quicker response stuff for these)

    I like to hit my stuff with a lot of surface early and let it laneshine during competition, but this shines too slow for me to do that. In a perfect world I'd probably have a slightly lower flaring Flare at the higher surface once this one starts burning up too much for my liking.
