The Hydra™ is one of the cleanest bowling balls ever produced by Motiv. The combination of the incredibly clean and angular Hexion cover system combined with the high RG/low differential Halogen core results in easy length with impressive backend motion.  Typically, a 5500 Grit LSP finish is used for light oil balls, but a 5000 Grit LSP finish was utilized on the Hydra because the cover glides through the front of the lane so easily.  This finish enables the ball to read the lane better and improves predictability at the backend.

Bowlers competing in high friction environments and rev dominant players will gravitate to the Hydra as a perfect angular ball to add to their arsenal.  Tournament bowlers looking for a dry lane performance bowling ball need Hydra in their bag. Unlike entry level pearls, this beast can strike from the deep and provides more angles of attack.

    This ball is great for very dry lanes. It gives good length and doesn't overreact on the back end. A must if you bowl on wood lanes like I do.

    Improved my average

    I was playing on terrible lane conditions that made using my Forza out of usability. I couldn't stop it from being too aggressive with its hook no matter what I tried. So I looked to get a light oil ball to save my season and the Hydra did just that and helped me bring my average up 15 points by the end of the season. Gets a little sketchy when I hit oil though.

    Love this ball

    The Hydra is a great versatile ball. It's designed for low oil with high angle. I've used mine in our travel league on a wide variety of oil patterns with great success. On heavy oil you can straighten out and play up 10, and when the lanes start to transition you can adjust without it losing it's energy.
    I would recommend everyone putting this ball in the bag.
