The Hydra™ is one of the cleanest bowling balls ever produced by Motiv. The combination of the incredibly clean and angular Hexion cover system combined with the high RG/low differential Halogen core results in easy length with impressive backend motion.  Typically, a 5500 Grit LSP finish is used for light oil balls, but a 5000 Grit LSP finish was utilized on the Hydra because the cover glides through the front of the lane so easily.  This finish enables the ball to read the lane better and improves predictability at the backend.

Bowlers competing in high friction environments and rev dominant players will gravitate to the Hydra as a perfect angular ball to add to their arsenal.  Tournament bowlers looking for a dry lane performance bowling ball need Hydra in their bag. Unlike entry level pearls, this beast can strike from the deep and provides more angles of attack.

    Great bowling ball

    Really good ball for old, wood lanes. Very smooth and predictable all the way through game 3. I love the snappiness of Motiv balls, and this one lives up to the hype.

    Exactly what I was looking for

    This is one of the best bowling balls Ive ever bowled with. Im an average league bowler. I bowl with two fingers in the ball and my palm under the ball. My rev rate is high and my ball speed is medium and I have a difficult time finding the right equipment for me. While I love my Venom shock there are nights that it just hooks too hard. I bought this ball so I dont have to move left and throw over the gutter. This ball has a great shape when thrown and I can play 6 to 8 boards right of where I play with my venom shock. this ball seems to have forgiveness also. I can miss right and think the ball is gone but it can grip the dry part of the lane and come back, I can miss left and come in high flush and it still has a good chance of striking. Im very excited that Motiv is working a lot on the dry oil product line. Due to the way I bowl a light oil ball is great for medium oil patterns. Motiv has given me options in their product line.
