The Jackal™ series from MOTIV® has certainly made a big impact in the bowling industry and its reputation for massive performance continues with the Jackal™ Legacy. This hook-beast is designed to handle the heaviest oil conditions any bowler will encounter.

Utilized often in recent years, the Predator™ V2 has proven to be a versatile, strong, and reliable high-performance core. It is used in the Jackal™ Ghost to provide a fantastic benchmark asymmetrical shape and in the more recent Jackal™ Flash to produce the most angular Jackal™ ever made. It also powered the Alpha Jackal™ used by PBA® professional Wesley Low to roll the first-ever sanctioned 900 series with a MOTIV® ball. And now, it is being merged with Coercion™ MXC Solid Reactive cover stock to create the strongest Jackal™ to roll off the MOTIV® production line.

The introduction of Coercion™ MXC (MaXimum Continuation) Solid Reactive cover stock sent waves through the sport. Without a doubt, this is one of the strongest covers in bowling today and what makes it truly special is not just the unbelievable traction! Until now, bowling balls that provided incredible traction in oil were greatly limited because the energy used up front adversely impacted the ability to continue down lane. Coercion™ MXC is most impressive because it gives the solid Jackal™ Legacy superior traction in oil and strong down lane motion with continuation previously thought impossible.

Out of the box, bowlers can expect the powerful solid Jackal™ Legacy to provide loads of traction in heavy oil, a smooth motion, and a controllable shape that minimizes over/under reaction on wet/dry conditions. Obviously, a ball this strong will be of particular interest to speed dominant bowlers on a variety of conditions.

When To Use:

  • Speed Dominant - The Jackal Legacy will allow speed dominant players who struggle to see mid lane read with down lane continuation to play their "A Game" with confidence.  This is truly a ball made to suit the strengths of the speed dominant player.  The Coercion MXC is already known for its incredible mid-lane read and continuation, but when powered by a strong and proven asymmetric core, the results are undeniable.  This is truly a speed dominant player's dream.
  • Balanced - WIth an incredibly aggressive core/cover combination and the well known versatility of the Predator V2 core, a balanced bowler now has a ball to use when rev dominant players are using the Jackal Ghost.  The Jackal Legacy makes a shape comparable to the Jackal Ghost, but with more total hook.  A balanced bowler will be able to use the Jackal Legacy on fresh patterns where the Ghost is just too clean and when players who have more rev rate are striking with the Ghost.
  • Rev Dominant - The Jackal Legacy is a ball that a rev dominant bowler will carry in their bag so that they ALWAYS have something no matter how much oil they encounter.  This is the strongest Jackal ever, and Rev Dominant players can compete with the knowledge that they always have "hook in a box" waiting for them with the Legacy.

    Jackal Legacy

    The layout I used on this ball is 60x5x30. This is the same layout I used on the Alpha Jackal as well. I was overly excited about drilling this ball because it shares the same cover as the Forge Flare, and that ball gave me plenty of success since release. The Jackal Core with the Coercion gives us the strongest ball Motiv has created! Not only does this ball see the midlane, but it also shows great continuation on the backend. I like to use the Jackal Legacy when there is a bunch of oil on the lane, longer pattens, and when I need to blend out the wet/dry that you can typically see on a house shot.

    A New Level

    The Jackal Legacy is taking HOOK to a whole new level. Straight out of the box, I could tell this ball will help me on fresh and long patterns. The Forge Flare was a great addition to Motiv and the Legacy is offering a level above that. The main thing I love about the Jackal Legacy is the control it offers. It is not too early and not too much skid flip, it gives me the perfect arching motion but is so strong. I have a lot of confidence that on fresh longer patterns, I’ll be able to have that free hook but will also be able to stay in the Jackal Legacy longer than most balls that start to burn up. This ball will play a crucial part in everyone’s bag.

    To start....this ball just flat out hooks. If you need a ball that'll hook on some of the slickest conditions, look no further than the Jackal Legacy. Featuring the proven Predator V2 weightblock found in the Jackal series, the Legacy has the Coercion MXC Solid cover wrapped around it that was previously featured on the Forge Flare. Coercion MXC is the strongest cover that Motiv has ever produced. Wrapping it around the proven core results in unmatched performance on heavier oil patterns.

    My favorite part about the Legacy is that it's a stronger ball that you can still move left with and the ball will still go through the pins.

    The Jackal balls from the MOTIV brand has certainly made a huge statement in the bowling world and has created a name for having great performance and continues with the new Jackal Legacy. This ball is designed to handle heavy oil conditions that bowlers will encounter.

    A new Legacy is upon us.....

    The Jackal Legacy was a surprise for me, taking a big Assym core and wrapping it with a super strong shell in the past meant closed angles and a ball that labors to get back up the hill. Then I threw this one and my preconceived notions were shattered. The Jackal Legacy cleared the fronts then dug hard in the mids and made the corner very similar to the Jackal Ghost. It is one of those balls that I throw a couple times and put it away because I don’t want to wear it out, it was that good. Best way to describe the ball is a jacked-up version of the Jackal Ghost. I have it 5-7 boards stronger than the Ghost on the House shot.
